Is this skirt nice or not?

I'd be grateful for your honest opinions

Husband isn't keen on this skirt and think it looks a bit cheap with the gold buttons and belt

I like it but not sure if it's nice or awful!

It would look awful on me but you could wear a bin bag and look amazing.

paristotokyo · 07/04/2024 18:38

Don't really like the skirt, sorry. It's a nice shape but if that's what it looks like after it's been ironed, will be much worse after a few hours of wear! Also is it that thick kind of 'plasticy' material? I agree with your DH, I don't like the gold details as it cheapens it. It's a lovely shape on you though and I love the way you've styled it with the cardigan. But tbh you carry it off and would look nice whatever you wore :)

Yes, very cool!

BlindBat · 07/04/2024 18:42

I love it, it looks great on, especially with the cardigan

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 07/04/2024 18:51

It’s nice! If it creases easily though then you either have to live with that look and not care or return it if it bothers you. I’ve had things which creased easily and I got fed up of ironing or steaming them (got both!) after a while.

Whatifthehokeycokey · 07/04/2024 19:04

Is the belt sewn in? I think it's fine but I can kind of see what he means about the belt. Could you find a vintage, more high quality belt and switch it in?

FayCarew · 07/04/2024 19:06

I don't like it

LadyoftheLavaLamp · 07/04/2024 19:36

What @StedeBonnet said!!

OP do you mind me asking what height and size you are? I think it may not be doing you that many favours due to height but I might be completely wrong there!

WishesPromised · 07/04/2024 19:43

It looks amazing on you!

Abitlosttoday · 07/04/2024 19:46

The cut, length, pockets and seams are all lovely. It really suits you. However, the creasing would drive me potty. Why do brands do this?

THisbackwithavengeance · 07/04/2024 19:48

What's not to like?

It looks great but to be fair, you'd look good in a sack, OP.

Has anyone tried starch spray for creases?

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 07/04/2024 19:52

I used to have a similar chambray Racing Green skirt when I was young and slim. But I barely wore it because it creased badly and just didn’t sit well. I liked the idea of the style but in practice not so much.

soupfiend · 07/04/2024 19:52

It looks good on you.

I wouldnt even consider it for me, so not nice for me, nice on you.

Dingdong99 · 07/04/2024 21:17

Thank you for your lovely comments. Greatly appreciated and I'll keep the skirt!

Where is the skirt from op? I agree with prev comments that it looks really good on you

EconomyClassRockstar · 07/04/2024 21:54

I"m indifferent to the skirt but I love your hair!

Her hair is something which she either spends ages tonging or it comes naturally to her. I'm not envious, no sirree!

Me, I use tongs or GHD's to create waves, the cat walks by me, I jump and burn my wrists on the tongs (this has happened!), or it's one of those styles that I do a French plait in my hair with a bit of setting lotion and mousse and it looks a bit like this after I take it out and comb it through a little bit.

I love her hair too though.

Great summer outfit, cool and elegant and suits you with that cardigan

Kittycat333 · 07/04/2024 22:00

I agree with the comment on the belt, the buckle looks too big (it's probably supposed to do that though) and a bit on the cheap side, which isn't great seeing as it's Sezane.

If the belt isn't sewn in then try another one.

i think op was saying the cardigan is from sezane, not the skirt

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 07/04/2024 22:06

Am I totally blind as I can't see this on their website?

Ohhh that makes sense!

RichardsGear · 07/04/2024 22:25

I think it's the cardigan that's from Sezane. I think the skirt looks nice but I'm not keen on the buckle bit of the belt. I think it would look better without a belt full stop, but appreciate there might be belt loops.
