Tips on clothing brands for large bust please

Hi,
Hoping you’ll be able to give me some tips on brands I can look into!
I’m 5’7 with a large bust (DDD/E depending on make/brand) and wide hips and I’m often struggling to find clothes that fit: if a top or a shirt fits the boobs, then it’s often too big around my waist and vice versa - I don’t have a slim waist but I find many clothes to be boxy and making not only me but many of us women look like we have no defined curves at all.

Please hit me with your best tips on brands and clothing ranges where I can start looking!

I understand the problem and it really IS a problem on the high street. I get round it by buying tops with stretch ( 5-10% elastane content) so in effect, there is ‘negative ease’ on my bust and it skims the waist. I look for neat fitted shapes with some shaping at the waist …there are some around atm if you look.

Brands:
Pour Moi

Fairlie Curved : say they design for larger bust, though mixed reports on here. Website is a bit weird but they’re going strong so must be working for some people.

Bravissimo/ Pepperberry on eBay, Vinted.

Urkye (Polish brand)

There are a few other non- UK brands if you have a Google.

I wear a lot of Lady V, though it's a very specific style

The Lyra is a cross bust style and flared so would suit big bust big hips

DDD/E is a US size? Are you in the US? If so may not be much help - there used to be a clothing brand by bravissimo but that sadly finished - they did helpfully list a lot of brands to try

Where can I find alternative clothing made for women with big boobs?
Our purpose is to support our big boobed community, so we have created a list of some brands that make clothing specifically tailored for big boobs:
ASOS Fuller Bust – https://www.asos.com/women//_
Next Fuller Bust - https://www.next.co.uk/search?w=fuller%20bust&isort=score&af==_
Fairlie Curved - https://fairliecurved.com//_
Bombshell HQ - https://www.bombshellhq.com//_
Alice Fawke - https://alicefawke.com/shop//_
Tai Deux - https://taideux.com//_
As a community of many big boobed women ourselves, we’ve found these brands are often cut a little more generously for your boobs but are not specifically tailored that way:
Seasalt - https://www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk//_
Popsy - https://www.popsyclothing.co.uk//_
Joanie - https://joanieclothing.com//_
New Look - https://www.newlook.com/uk//_
In The Style - https://www.inthestyle.com//_
Missguided - https://www.missguided.co.uk//_
Scarlett & Jo - https://www.scarlettandjo.com//_
Collectif - https://www.collectif.co.uk//_

I personally have started wearing a lot of scamp and dude and saint and Sofia which have styles that work as well.

I’m I the UK! But have bought bras from for example Victoria’s Secret and in Sweden.
I might be wrong on DDD/E as I just checked two that fits: Figleaves which is 36G, and a Freya which is 36F.
Theyre all different sizes depending on brand! 😆

Thank you for all the links!

The struggle is real, isn't it.

What works for me is to start with a really well fitting bra. https://www.rigbyandpeller.com get my vote for really good fittings and a brilliant range

Once girded up as it were, I found that it's more about style of top than actual brand. V or scoop necks which maximise the space between neck and neckline is a good start.

Darts or any tailoring that takes volume away below the breast line if you do genuinely go in at the waist

Stretchy materials and those that don't cling are all helpful. I hardly ever wear the kind of shirt that buttons down the front because those buttons will always look under strain.

My current favourites are the Uber Jackie style in Kettlewell colours.

I would suggest learning to sew. Not to a dress making standard unless you want to but enough to be able to buy a size up and take out a bit of volume on the waist.
