Jeans for lipoedema legs

I'm UK 12-14 but with Stage 2 lipoedema legs. Plus short legs compared to long torso. Yay!

Usually the solution is to wear long skirts/maxi dresses/baggy trousers, but maxi dresses overwhelm my short gamine frame and I realised I just look better with jeans than long skirts.

A decent slim-fit pair of jeans can help as long

  • fabric must be sturdy enough not to drape over every single lump (so definitely not thin draping stretchy fabric common in skinny fit jeans)
  • tapered at ankle to create illusion of vertical line

If you are similar to me and have a pair of jeans that you bought recently and love - I'd love to know!

My only pair of jeans is getting too old (8+ years) and overwhelmed at the idea of jeans shopping. I don't even know what key words to look for :(

@Workingmytickettoparadise - Thank you, do you have these?

I never had high waist jeans before (avoided them before because of flabby tummy) - usually had mid-rise or low rise jeans before but happy to give them a go - if material can tuck in belly pooch a bit rather than exaggerate it even more with nipping at the waist.

@NotSoLeggyBrunette no but I read your thread and thought of these straight away.

I've just bought these after another MNetter recommended them. The shape is fantastic and they are SO comfortable. I always buy the size to cover my stomach, so even though I'm only 5'2, and a size 8/10 in the main, I got a size 12 in these as my belly has increased since menopause 😏 Fit perfectly.

I have lipoedema and I get on with the high waisted styles so might not have the same needs/taste but the Addison ones from Lucy and yak are very comfortable for pottering about.
Levis from the USA seem to fit better as they distinguish between Misses sizes and womens, and the women's ones had a narrower waist and more room for hips and thighs
