Archies, Fitflops or Bjorgk? Flip flops or sliders

Anybody have any of these? I have to say goodbye to years of wearing my beloved birkies as cork is sadly no longer an option.

I currently live in big squishy New Balance trainers (to help my feet) and am looking for a summery alternative.

Before I strike out, I just wondered if anyone has any of these brands and would you recommend them?

Many thanks

I bought some Doc Marten sandals - no use and two pairs from Next last summer - they're all going on vinted as they were so bloody heavy they were no use for everyday wear.

I have some Teva ones and covet the too pricey air and grace - currently looking for something to just quickly shove on my feet and wear around the house ot on holiday etc

Archie's flip flops are tight over the arch so size up arch support great but obvious much thinner sole than Fitflop Sliders look good
I loved my thick soles Fitflop sandals but they died after many years of wear. Been looking at the lulu ones.
After years of Fitflop everything I find it hard to wear thin soles shoes but their toe bed is getting narrower and a bit squishy sometimes in shoes

I like my fitflops, I've got several and find them all comfy.

Fitflop walkstar . Thank goodness they saw sense and brought em back ! P

An Australian friend recommended Archies. I love them. They are so comfortable.

I have these FitFlop sandals in two colours. Sooo comfortable. I prefer to have a back strap so I'm not worried about them slipping off.

I live in fitflops the majority of the year for all types of footwear, work and leisure. - my exception is merry boots for wellies purely because of the colour options.

I have Fitflop trainers which are nice and some sandals. I just wanted something to chuck on in the house or round the pool.

I love my Archie's. Great arch support. I think I had to size up too as pp. I also have som forflop flipflops ( not the chunky ones) Not half as good as the archies

SomethingAboutNothing · 05/04/2024 22:48

What about the Birkenstock EVA sandals? I live in them through summer.

hohohowheniscmascoming · 05/04/2024 23:29

I also love my Archies

I've got those Lulu FitFlop sandals too. This year will be my 4th summer in them & they still look new. Very comfortable. I also like their flip flop style sandals. I usually buy in the sale (living up to my username again!)

@ChocoChocoLatte I’m also looking! what did you get in the end? I’ve a pair of ‘lighfeet’ which are very similar to Archie’s I think but a tadge cheaper. They’re comfy with great arch support but I can feel the pebbles on the beach. So now wondering if Archie’s or Fitflops would be better.

Tikk · 06/08/2024 11:29

I love Archies. I wore mine straight out of the pack around London all day. They're very comfy.

norasand · 06/08/2024 14:49

For me, the Archie's work much better, but I guess it depends how high your arches are. Archie's support my arches fitflops don't really, so the fitflops are relegated to pottering between kitchen and patio, whereas I can actually walk places in the archies

NotDonna · 07/08/2024 17:44

@Tikk & @norasand - I’ve read somewhere that Archies may be better for narrower feet. Have you found this?

My feet are normal sized I think so not sure about narrow ones. I got mine from their shop on Amazon so it was free delivery and I could return them. I think you have to pay for that if you buy direct.

My feet are on the narrow side, although not super narrow anymore. They fit me great even after sizing up

mustwashmycurtains · 07/08/2024 22:01

I have 2 pairs of Archie's flip flops and also Archie's sliders. I have fairly wide feet and didn't need to size up - they are supposed to be relatively fitted to be comfortable so your foot isnt' sliding around like in a normal flat style.

Their sliders are a bit thicker than the flip flop but potentially a bit less comfortable for me?

JoanDarc · 07/08/2024 22:13

I bought a pair of Archie’s flip flops for a recent holiday, they’re comfortable (as someone who doesn’t normally get on well with toe posts, except Birkies), couldn’t wear for a long walk though.
I know you mentioned cork but have you tried the rubbery plastic material Birkies - Gizeh? I’ve got a white pair, must be 7/8 years old and they’re like new. Very comfortable to wear and no blisters even when walking in the heat, which is unheard of for me.
