What changes can you make to how you look in 2 weeks?

Inspired by another thread which I didn't want to hijack;

Looking a bit rough after a difficult month or so. Worst thing is bags and dark shadows round eyes which no amount of concealer will hide. Have an event coming up in a couple of weeks. I know there are no miracle solutions but anything to add to this list to do what I can to look better in 2 weeks?

Increase water intake
Try to sleep more (easier said than done at the moment)
Eat lots of fruit and veg
Exercise min 3 times/week with fresh air where possible.
Cleanse, tone, moisturise morning & night
Cut & blow and manicure already booked.

Thank you

Book in a facial, massage treatment or spray tan?

firstimer01 · 01/04/2024 12:38

Agree with @changingplace a facial and a spray tan can do wonders! I naturally have dark circles under my eyes and find using a colour corrector under my concealer makes a big different, the Bobbi Brown one is my go to.

frenchonionsnoop · 01/04/2024 12:39

whenever I start to think I am looking a bit shite I have found that a brow shape and tint and a lash lift and tint makes everything ok within an hour!

ButterflyTable · 01/04/2024 12:40

Eyebrows and nails make a big difference to me!

OMGitsnotgood · 01/04/2024 16:24

Thank you, some good tips from you all

I wouldn't go for a facial as they can tend to bring out spots... but yes to a massage and eyebrow wax! Also good, lovely supporting underwear can be a real confidence boost b

Flipflops123 · 01/04/2024 16:27

Also, eyelash curlers

StrongandNorthern · 01/04/2024 16:27

Don't get a spray tan.
Do all the things you listed.
Good Luck x

Great list OP!

If you're not doing this already, it may be worth applying a vitamin c serum in the morning before your spf.

I've just ordered this one and am hoping it makes a difference:

Medik8 c tetra luxe

I'm prone to dark circles too, so always have a pair of sunglasses in my handbag.

OMGitsnotgood · 02/04/2024 07:17

I've never heard of vitamin C serum before, quite expensive if you're not sure it will work? Would be interested to hear.

That has prompted me to add a daily multivitamin to my list. What they will do in 10 days if anything I don't know but worth a go. I'm quite run down and look a bit 'grey' so the only way is up!

Meditate each day - just a short one will help calm your system. Imo it can do wonders for your face and demeanour as well as general health

PeacheyPeach · 02/04/2024 07:31

Fake tan ( a good one that doesn't streak!)
Eyebrows waxed and tinted
Lashes
A nice touch of highlighter in your makeup routine so you have a bit of glow on your face ( also Boots no 7 lift and laminate skincare is great for adding a bit of glow!)
A nice new outfit

curlywillow · 02/04/2024 08:13

I am on my own for the week since DH has taken the DC skiing. I've so far done my nails, done an olaplaex treatment on my hair, bought and applied fake tan gel, had my eyebrows shaped and tinted and I'm getting a lash lift (bought a home set but I've chickened out so Ive booked an appointment). I've been micro needling and applying a good serum, have been taking a multivitamin, evening primrose oil and collagen and have been taping my forehead wrinkles at night. I've also been doing 30 sit ups and 20 press ups every night.

I feel a bit better even if I don't look much different yet.

TitInATrance · 02/04/2024 08:17

No alcohol makes the single biggest difference for me, as it makes my face flushed and puffy. I may be looking a bit rough post bank holiday weekend.

Toothbrushh · 02/04/2024 08:19

I have loads done

eyebrows shape and tint. - that makes the biggest difference
eyelashes.
nails
deep conditioner for hair

thin lips can have discreet filler (my h didn’t notice !)

Toothbrushh · 02/04/2024 08:20

Yes good. Call with fake tan too

This will make no difference to your appearance. 😁😁

I am not sure about that. I truly think that stress shows on your face and adds years to it that you haven't lived yet. Feeling calmer and less strssed imo makes quite a big difference to your appearance. But obviously that's only my opinion, others may think differently

Itsanothermanicmonday · 02/04/2024 13:12

Eyebrows waxed and tinted, lashes tinted.

Exfoliating your body at home and applying a good daily moisturiser.

If budget can stretch to it some new underwear will make you feel and look better. A new bra or two (get fitted at a traditional bra shop) and maybe some shape wear if required.

Pedicure depending what your wearing?

pralina you are absolutely right about how stress can affect how we look. I once had to take a massage exam and my “client” (a fellow student, also taking the exam) arrived late despite her best efforts and she was hyper stressed. By the time I had massaged her back etc and turned her onto her front she had totally relaxed. The difference in her face was striking - she looked radiant, absolutely beautiful, honestly if I hadn’t seen it myself I would find it hard to believe quite how much of a difference letting go of her stress could make to her face.

OldMrsHempstock · 03/04/2024 00:28

Water, sleep and exercise are definitely most important (I'd aim for a daily walk, yoga or pilates 2-3x per week and body pump 2-3x per week.

If your teeth are at all stained, book in with a hygienist for a scale & polish.

Clothes that fit well, especially underwear.

Exfoliate or use a peel every few days. Cleanse, tone & moisturise twice a day.

Maybe a new haircut and/or colour. Otherwise do a hair mask.

Manicure - short French looks really healthy.

Possibly spray tan but only a touch darker than your natural skin tone.

Brow shape & tint.

Lip mask nightly if your lips are dry.

Morewineplease10 · 03/04/2024 00:32

Tanning drops are good. Really natural and subtle.

LamonicBibber1 · 03/04/2024 00:57

Yoga for posture. Cut out sugar. Drink green tea and water. Polish your shoes and iron clothes , if you're like me and do not iron 😅

OMGitsnotgood · 04/04/2024 08:25

Fantastic, thank you everyone, princessing well and truly underway!
