I am really hoping to be pointed in the right direction for ladies trainers to fit my apparently wide toe spread (iykwim) Shoes/trainers always end up feeling uncomfortable because they are pressing on the outside of my little toe.
I don't have wide feet anywhere else- just in this area. Also, I am size 3/3.5 so these elusive trainers need to come in tiny sizes too! Can anyone help?

I find skechers have a wider fit/less need to break them in.
There are wide fit skechers too.

As a bonus they also do half sizes

New balance 574 have a wider toe box

CheshireCats · 31/03/2024 23:21

Thank you both- I will go and look at those!

Skechers wide fit are good and Fitville are also great. https://thefitville.uk/collections/womens-wide-shoes?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwk6SwBhDPARIsAJ59GwfTFxo2E33aIJRUki5k80NX3R-scB72kVe6gT0ygmTyF3FnwLnHydEaAqzuEALw_wcB

Fitville seem to be size 3.5 min though on the few pairs I checked.

Try https://www.widerfitshoes.co.uk/ as well, they’re mostly quite granny ish but there are some reasonable ones to pick through, down to size 3 but I did find they came up large for men’s. They have a size checker on their website. They sell shoes for different width issues - the magazine had pics in of diff width types.

My daughter likes fitville.

I like the barefoot shoes - brilliant for anatomically appropriate toe boxes, its literally why they exist as a style. You need to be prepared for the thin soles though - if you aren't used to going barefoot eg at home you might need to build foot strength. I like my hobibobear ones from Amazon. There are loads of brands.

New Balance are good for a wide toe box. I like their 410 trail shoes.

Sketchers do (or at least used to do) wide fit which is wide for your whole foot or relaxed fit which is a wide toe box and standard heel width.

I have a pair of Skechers D Lites that seem good for wide toes and narrow heels.

Skechers and Hi tec

Be aware that Sketchers stretch a lot.

I have wide feet and find FitFlop Rally to be perfect and instantly comfortable too.

Have a look at barefoot trainers, their shape is different so they are wider at the toes because that’s the way our feet should be. Vivo are a good place to start.

As others have said New Balance, and I’ve also found that Adidas fit quite wide too

Hoka and Asics GT 2000 are genuinely wide toe box not just wide sole. Women's Asics are wide but men's is even wider to accommodate wiggling even severe hammer toes and bunions. I never got on with Sketchers personally. In the shop they feel like a dream but afterwards walking in the real world, there is no support just just walking on a mattress which sounds great but was too spongy that my ankles and heel were too bouncy and unstable. I haven't tried every single Sketchers version out therr just about 10 different styles of their brand. My feet are wide but are slim and my arches are low. I have hypermobility, had plantar fasciitis and now have ankle, hip and knee pain when I get up after rest.

I totally agree about being seduced by the initial comfort of skechers. If you have dodgy feet, the lack of support and the mattress effect soon become apparent. I have suffered badly in my skechers.

Now I wear mine with cheap amazon arch support insoles and they are good to wear all day.
