What should/could I be wearing?

Mid-30’s, normally live in gym or horse riding kit.
Going out in public wear would be skinny jeans, vans or ballet bumps, plain t-shirt/cami with a coloured cardigan over the top.
But it feels boring! I also have no idea what to wear for a more social setting, ie date or drinks in town with friends etc, when a dress and heels (my go to) feels a bit excessive.
High street budget unfortunately though not opposed to shopping on vinted etc.
Long upper body, big boobs, small waist, decent hips, short legs, quite chunky arms/shoulders.
I just don’t really know where to start on ‘style’ so outfit suggestions very welcome please!

Dress and trainers with a little cotton/denim/leather jacket

I pretty much always wear a long skirt and tshirt/jumper and sandals/trainers/boots - or a dress. - when going out now.

Cropped trousers - straight or wide leg. Would probably work with a lot of your other clothes & shoes too

The easiest way to update your look is just to browse a few fashionable online stores to see new proportions and how things are being styled. Then pick a few pieces to incorporate into your existing wardrobe.

& Other Stories is excellent for this, whether or not you want to buy their actual clothes.

Zara, too, is fantastic for styling inspiration even though the clothing quality is often crap.

And then a site like Collagerie which picks up on some of the best new stuff from countless online stores.

The main thing is that styles evolve - and there is no should. Looking vaguely contemporary (if that’s your aim) is mostly about taking the time to observe - and being open to novelty.

(Gosh that sounds preachy! Apologies for the lecturing tone.)

I'm older but pretty similar figure. I'd suggest looser jeans, cropped if you don't like the very baggy, puddling 90s ones and something which is like a cardigan but has more interest like a bomber or blazer. There are loads of cardigan jackets hybrids around. If I wore skinny jeans and a cardigan I would feel dated as I used to wear that 10 years ago. But it's essentially the same outfit just with different cuts.

I've really embraced dresses over the last few years. Easy to dress up or down. I have skirts as well but they don't get as much wear.

Thank everyone, few ideas to look into here.
I love day dresses, I have lots of pretty summer ones that work well with summer sandals. But I can’t seem to crack footwear for more casual and/or winter dresses? And also, tights? I always seem to end up waddling like a penguin in them but how else do you hide the milk bottle white winter legs and stay warm? Suggestions very welcome as I’d love to embrace more casual dresses all year round!
