BIAB

I had high hopes for this.
Builder in a Bottle they call it.
I thought that meant it would build up the strength of the nails.
How wrong was I.
Yes my nails looked lovely with the BIAB on. But I never intended to keep getting it done.
My nails are wrecked after having BIAB done.
Just like with the Shellac I previously had done, my nails are now in an awful state. Peeling and broken at the tips.
I am nourishing the cuticles with cuticle oil and Vaseline hoping they will eventually improve.

Foolish me, misinterpreting the name. Builder in a Bottle.
As Jim Royle would say "Builder in a Bottle. My a*se !"

It isn't supposed to heal your nails and make them stronger when you take it off. It makes them strong while it's on. I have had it for years and my nails always look lovely but I am under no illusion that if I decided to remove it then it would take a while for my nails to look okay. When it grew out in lockdown I had to really nourish my nails with oils.

My nail tech said trying to remove biab completely isn't a great idea - if you want to stop getting it done she said just let it grow out and keep filing it down

What Apollo said. It's meant to keep your nails stronger whilst you wear it. I've been having BIAB manicures for 4 years and love it. But yes, you do have to maintain. If you don't have regular manicures then it's not the product for you.

If there's a salon near you that offers an IBX service, maybe try that.

I used biab but do it myself due to my nails becoming brittle and weak.
I also take Biotin 12000 daily.
My nails are definitely stronger but I soak it off with acetone soaked cotton pads wrapped up in tinfoil.
When your nail technician removes the biab does she file it off?
Dsis was a nail technician and she said that the filing with the sanding machine can take off the top layer of your nails leaving them weak.
When I get my nails done professionally for special occasions I always soak my biab off first, no way would I let anyone use that machine on my nails.
I'm no expert though

It's builder gel, as in you build an artificial nail with it. It is also known as structure gel, it is thick enough to hold form instead of levelling flat like a base gel would do. It is the same stuff that comes in pots that nail techs sculpt gel nails with, it seems easier to apply because it comes with a brush and is applied with the same method as any other nail polish.

At no point is this ever to be used to strengthen natural nails once the product is removed.

If your nails look terrible then you have a shit nail tech as there are lots of nail techs on youtube who remove either acrylics or gel nails on their own nails and have beautiful nails underneath, not strong, but no little white marks on the nail. That occurs when the nail is taken off too quickly and I can link a video of a nail tech showing this and how it should be taken off.

BIAB is a brilliant product and especially easy for at home use with infilling after the natural nail regrows. Lots of tutorials on youtube by nail techs as well as lots of people doing their own nails at home. I had my nails professionally done for over a decade, now I do my own.

I would never completely remove BIAB, I always leave a thin layer behind, or I file the bulk off then soak off. Never ever have it filed off completely

Its suitable for home use as you can soak off.

Whoever took yours off has taken most of your nail plate with it and your nails will take months to repair themselves

Buy some CND rescue to use, it will help

Things that you add to the nail plate such as BIAB, acrylics, only give the appearance of strong healthy nails whilst applied. Your can only get good nail strength by diet, possibly a supplement, and good nail care and not by using them as tools. I never put my hands in water without the rubber gloves, I dont open ring pulls with them , I wear gloves when gardening or DIY and I personally always keep my nails coated in gel polish.

My hands are on show all the time, I like to keep my hands and nails looking good

My nails were destroyed having BIAB removed. I had to have BIAB put back on a couple of weeks later as they kept splitting (pointless removing it in the first place!) and my nails felt like they were on fire when they were filing them. She said the top layer of the nail had come off.

Stupid me thought BIAB - Builder in a Bottle would build up your natural nails using it - like a therapeutic treatment.
But what it does is build strength on to your nails as long as you keep the stuff on.
Once removed my nails were in bits. Sad

But your nails should never be in bits from removal.

BIAB is a soak off with acetone,so yes dry, but not thin. You havent said how you had it removed. If it was filled off with an E-file by someone not trained, then yep you have trouble

I do my own nails, I use an e-file, I use gels, acrylics and BIAB. Im self taught. I get friends ask me to do their nails, and I refuse because Im not qualified and Im only used to working on me. Id make a pigs ear doing someone elses

Hi, this happened to me! I’ve tried them all acrylic, biab, shellac gel overlay and my nails were in a terrible state after the removal of them all. I used and swear by CND nail rescue it’s fantastic! My nails are back to normal lovely and healthy and strong.
