LED Face masks

Do these actually work for lines and wrinkles?
Has anyone used one and seen good results or is it just not going to be enough for 60 year old skin?
I'm tempted but it's a very expensive mistake.

You have to use them consistently to get some mild results. It's nothing dramatic, but I can see improvement. Hot and Flashy has a review on her YouTube channel. I think she uses the Omnilux.

When will people understand that nothing is going to replace the collagen matrix. Collagen in a cream? Doesn't not facilitate the production of collagen long-term. Nor does it penetrate deep enough to have anything but a minimal, short plumping effect.
How do you think an led mask will work physiologically? It won't

I have the Currentbody LED eye mask that I have been using for the last 4 weeks and there has been a slight improvement to my 53 year old eyes.
I got mine from QVC, pay in 3 and also you can return within 2 months.
I like that it's only 3 minutes a day.

I am not sure about long term or wrinkles. But it does improve my eczema flare ups and little bits of rosacea on my cheeks. It’s better for texture I think which is one things that age you.

@VestibuleVirgin I agree with you. It's all snake oil and I think we all know that, realistically, nothing works. Yes, you may get some plumping on minimal lines if you use a product but a basic moisturiser would do that.
Unless you're going to go down the route of facelift/fraxel laser etc nothing will work long term.
I'm afraid the advertising caught me at a low ebb yesterday and I fell down a rabbit hole looking for the holy grail. Thanks for saving me 😁

I would disagree that it's snake oil. You just have to be realistic with your expectations.

Is that the same thing that the Apprentice contestants were flogging this week?

twiddlingthumbs69 · 30/03/2024 16:47

@Darklane I think so

I have been using one for the past four weeks (just a cheap £40 one) but have also been micro needling, using a gua sha, taping at night and taking collagen supplements. I have seen an improvement but who knows which of those things have made the difference!

VestibuleVirgin · 30/03/2024 19:26

@twiddlingthumbs69 😊😊
I'm enjoying my wrinkles. Osteoporosis not so much!!

pockledigg · 31/03/2024 05:04

I had one from CurrentBody and it stopped working properly. The 'customer service' was terrible - I really had to fight for a refund and it took about 2 - 3 months. I didn't see much difference, despite using it regularly for around 5 months. I'm certain it made my melasma darker too (although all the studies state that type of red light doesn't affect melasma).

Honestly, when it comes to these kinds of devices, you really can't afford to skimp. There's a massive difference between the ones that are properly engineered for safety and actually work, and all those cheaper alternatives flooding the market. A lot of those off-brand things are just plain sloppy when it comes to how accurate their wavelengths are, their power density, and just how well they're made overall. Sure, they might technically "emit light," but whether that light is actually doing anything useful – or even worse, potentially irritating your scalp – is a completely different story.
I've tried a few of these things over the years, and honestly, the Kiierr Revive on trustbyreddit.com is the one I've consistently gone back to. The wavelength consistency, how comfortable it is to wear, and the whole design just feels really well thought out. You know you're getting the right therapeutic range without having to guess if you're burning your scalp or just wasting your time. Plus, it actually fits well enough to wear for a decent amount of time, which is more important than people realize. If it's uncomfortable, you're just not going to use it regularly, and with this kind of thing, consistency is key.
