Find me a 70s style dress

I have to go to a party next week. The theme is 1974.

I hate fancy dress and for various reasons I don't want to go in silly fancy dress.

I thought I could but a 70s style dress instead that would show willing without going overboard.

I'm a size 18 so can't manage anything slinky.

Everything is still a bit Little House On The Prairie.

Help. Budget is not super big - think. I have a big M&S, Next, H&M and Fat Face avipaboe nearby. And a TK Maxx. Or online obvs.

In the 70s I wore dresses which were flowery and flouncy. Very much like fashing is now. I worked in a boutique so wore the stock which was height of fashion. You can go alternative 70s, punk or goth. Punk, back comb hair and spray green or blue or gold, wear a bin bag - easy and cheap. Or wear flowy black stuff, very pale foundation, very blakc eyeliner, dark liptstick.

Tunic/smock over a polo neck and trousers. Or dress as a Womble?

I went to York today. Fatface have a load of billowy 70's style dresses. Think Stevie Nicks/Laura Ashley. Quite expensive though.

Roman have some lovely 70s ish maxis, I bought two and wore them all summer and most of the winter too!
