Tights in spring? Scotland

I normally switch to spring type clothes as April approaches. Mostly jeans because it’s too chilly for skirts at the beginning of the month.
However, since moving from a relatively mild part of England to north Scotland, it’s cold the majority of April and often into May. Hell last year it was chilly in July!
Are tights seen as acceptable in spring? Do you dress for the weather or the season?

I love my skirts and dresses so get kinda tired of wearing jeans from April through to summer and often in summer.

What shoes are you all wearing with your tights?

With opaques, flat laced up boots. With sheers ballet flats/ pumps, flat to 4cm block heel.

Also in Scotland. The opaques stay on while the weather is a bit dreich. There's a point, usually in April at some time, when they just feel a bit wrong. I'm DESPERATE to get into some spring wear, but the weather is just too wintry just now.

From April I tend to introduce brighter colours and lighter knitwear but it's probably June before I contemplate bare legs. Between April and June once I've abandoned tights, I mostly stick to jeans and trousers.
