I would like a swimming costume which covers my arse please.

Every swimming costume I look at is cut away across the arse cheeks. I don’t get it! I’d like my saggy old arse covered and I’d still like quite a nice customer. I’m tall and slim (ish) small boobs, saggy arse. I like clothes and am quite stylish but not too trendy and not too sexy. Send your ideas this way please. Thank you!

Are they very cut away or do you have a long torso, OP? A one piece swimming costume never fits me properly round the bum and is uncomfortable. I can size up a number of sizes and it’ll hang off everywhere else and still not fit properly round my bottom. I had a personal styling session a few years ago and she commented on my long torso. I’d never noticed it, but she said it can make swimwear difficult because there’s not enough fabric for a longer than average back and it ends up pulling up round your bum. I now wear two pieces, and if I want or need a one piece, I buy them from places that do a long/tall version. Boden is my go-to. Not cheap but I only really need one and I want to be comfy. Also J Crew, but the shipping and returns is a bit boring as no longer in the UK.

I also have a long torso.

Another vote for Lands End Tugless swimsuits.

They come in cup size categories D/DD/DDD (presumably US sizing) and "tall" sizes. Unfortunately not cup sizes and tall together, but I am a 36F size 16 and just wear my dress size. You need to convert from US sizing.

I have a long torso and find the key is to get adjustable straps like a bra. I actually find Next swimwear the best with sensible bum coverage (I have a huge bum adorned with cellulite and I do not want to display it) but I don’t really go in for the rest of their clothes…

I also like Lands End. Forgot to post link to UK Esther Williams suits

So sorry! I completely forgot about this! Some amazing suggestions. Thank you!!! I'm going to buy a lands end one and see how I get along. Lots of other good ideas too. Really, I had no idea about all these branded. Thanks so much!!!!!

I like to relive my surfer wannabe youth and get animal or Roxy board shorts and pop them over a swimsuit.

HesterPrincess · 06/04/2024 18:11

I've got a very plain Speedo one that covers the bum well. I went swimming on holiday (UK indoor pool) and was horrified by the amount of arse on show. It's bloody grim.

Don't buy Shein

Gowlett · 06/04/2024 18:15

I saw lovely togs recently, Speedo or Nike, but the problem was that the arse was so low-cut (as in the swimsuit was backless / had a cut-out / you know what I mean) that not only could you see my tramp stamp (fine) but a fair portion of builders crack.

Sainsbury’s swimsuits

This isn’t at all skimpy and the ruching is flattering - I have it in black. There are usually Boden discount codes online, or website offers.

Deakin & Blue, especially if you are a swimmer. Their cossies stay put.

Attictroll · 06/04/2024 19:22

I ordered and tried on loads last year and tu version of this in navy won and was the cheapest tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc143451829

They do it in black too I think

Mumaway · 06/04/2024 19:27

Pour Moi (Although they size small on the bottom half), and figleaves high waist bikini bottoms are mostly fine.
Why would anyone want up your bum swimsuits really?? It's just a waxing dilemma and I don't need everyone seeing more of my wobbly bits than necessary. I'm dreading teenage DDs asking for thong bikinis😬

Simply Be have loads of great ones. I got this one recently and it's so comfy

Just wondered if anyone had swimming costume up dates ?

I am looking for good bottom coverage and a halter neck as this seems more flattering for my shape.

So the 1950s style ones would seem a good choice.

I tried the Esther Williams range
came up small even though I had ordered up a size.
Also it was expensive at £75 and not even lined on both sides , just the front.
The last time I had a swim costume without lining on the derrière there were holes in no time from sand and sea water which is not great so I have returned.

I brought a lovely one from Joanie last year and was hoping for the same this year but missed out.
Fully lined at front and back and halter neck and ample bottom coverage.
