Just that! Would love to buy now, wondering if heavy and chunky is still in because there are lots on sale and on Vinted etc.

Can't you just wear what you like to wear and are comfortable in, Op?

She could, but she's interested in what's trendy or in fashion. You may think people should not follow trends or care about being 'in' but the op does and hence she posted in this section.

Really can't stand how dull S&B has become with all the "wear what you likes".....

I'm all about salt water sandals. The swimmer ones with a bit of support. They're genuinely the comfiest shoes I've ever worn, and you can wear them in the sea. I want some in the latte colour this year.

caringcarer · 25/03/2024 01:25

I like k sandals with a 1 inch heel as if flat or too high they make my legs ache.

Groundbreaking advice. Seriously though, why do people say this on every S&B thread? OP wants to chat about sandals, in Style & Beauty! It’s all good.

I'll be wearing metallic with chunky soles. Usually Moda in Pelle.
But am looking for orange ones too.

PandaKunKun · 25/03/2024 06:38

I'll be wearing chunky Doc Martens and Fitflop flatform sandals. They give me a bit of height and I can literally walk all day in them!

nzeire · 25/03/2024 08:31

omg, mental responses.

its style and beauty folks!!!!

im birks, saltwaters and sometimes doc sandals. Need to upgrade, so also watching with interest!

crackfoxy · 25/03/2024 08:40

I'm ditching the saltwaters this year in favor of the Birkenstocks

KottuKottuKottu · 25/03/2024 09:05

Another clog fan here but loving some of Sweedish Hasbeens for this year. Looks like some good reductions as well atm, plenty of different styles/colours and heel heights.

I prefer SH to Lotta think they are better made.

But having said that I do like the look of the Sydney Birkenstocks, not as clunky as the Arizona.

But then need to look at more as I live in a hot country and am always in sandals!

FunkyMonks · 25/03/2024 09:15

I've got my Ugg ashston sandals and fly sandals both got a nice chunky heal, I've never liked flat sandals your feet that close to the dirty ground no thanks that and wearing flat shoes is bad for your feet.

Grin S&B on footwear will be 50% Doc Martens and 50% M&S. Anything else will be met with howls of protest ...

As well as Primark and TK Maxx....😂

There used to be some great fashion advice on S&B...but you're not allowed to be fashionable or god forbid 'on trend' on mumsnet anymore. It really shows in the email they send you on a Sunday night of what people are 'apparently' buying out there...🙄

CheerfulBunny · 25/03/2024 10:34

I read that Vogue report with interest - I'm not sure I can face clacking about in mules again as I did in the 90s so I might let that sail on by. I'm investing heavily in espadrilles. Not sure if they count as sandals but I bought a couple of pairs of Gaimos last year and they're beautifully made, so velvety soft inside and have just bought some yellow Casteners.
Other than that I'm keeping my powder dry for now. I quite like the look of those fisherman sandals on other people but I think my legs are too chunky for them, plus I tend to go for tan rather than black.

AntonFeckoff · 25/03/2024 11:08

That Vogue article says 'Hone in on hosiery' 🙄

I will be wearing whatever fits my flippers, which is not a lot. Last year I tried (normal fitting) Birks but they rubbed my arch so I had to sell them and wore trainers through the summer instead. This year I've ordered a wide chunky pair from Clarks. They haven't arrived yet, I'm not holding out much hope.

Astrabees · 25/03/2024 11:17

more outings for my Russell and Bromley fisherman’s sandals this year with back up from Toast clog style sandals. I also have some comfort options - Keen Venice and some gold Hotter sandals if there is much walking involved.

EvelynBeatrice · 25/03/2024 11:58

Sosander ( don't like clothes v much) have in the holy grail for me - low wedge espadrilles. Third pair I have bought. Holy grail for me - comfy, elegant enough for evening (short arse so small lift welcome) and covered toes/ neutral colour maximise wear occasions.

I mastered how to tie the laces by observing that the Spanish royals often cross wrap round once then tie at inner leg. Works a treat.
