I need shoes with arch support, because I'm told this will help with the arthritis in my big toe joints. I'm looking mainly for trainers because I prefer that look and level of comfort. I feel like I've looked at every pair of trainers on the internet and am starting to go a bit mad.
SO - can anyone please recommend a good brand of comfy trainers with arch support? I'm willing to pay almost any price in my pursuit of happy feet (and less grumpy knees).
Thank you thank you thank you.

Hokas are brilliant for hallax limitus/rigidus (big toe arthritis). The rocker sole means that your toe won't over extend.

I also really like sole bliss for less sporty trainers. They are pricey though.

Honestly, I'd get customised arch support inserts via a podiatrist, then you can whack them into anything you like.

Birkenstock Bend Low. Supportive and room for your toes. Come in narrow and regular. Very comfortable.

Vionic do vaguely fashionable trainers with arch support, plus some wide fit styles if these are more comfortable for you. Hoka are great & very springy - I have them in the soft walking boots but they have no arch support, so I add my own.You could maybe pick up some specialist insoles for your specific condition? Shuropody will make custom made insoles for you at a price.

Vans UltraRange with custom arch support.

Carvela. I really struggle and these have been great for a dressier option.

Vionic or Strive or any wide style trainer (wide in the toe box) and your own custom inserts. I like Air force ones for good toe box space....

Hey! Don't call your feet stupid! They get you from A to B and sometimes C. (mindful of the fact that my big toes have not yet - touch wood- had any arthritis. About the only place left!).

This. I’ve had arch supports from my podiatrist for about 20 years now, the difference they make is astonishing.
