Is there anything you did or bought that improved how you look and/or feel?

I've just turned 36, I'm a single parent to two boys, i work and trying to renovate the house ive just bought, all of which leaves me feeling constantly overwhelmed followed by lots of falling asleep on the sofa. I used to be fairly okay to look, now I'm frumpy, I have lines, my skin is dry no matter how much water I drink or moisturiser I use, my hair very thick but graying and a lot fell out last year which was the worst of our lives after spending time homeless.

I would love to start looking after myself, to start feeling even a little attractive, so would be so good to hear what has worked and helped others!

Here are my tips from when my kids were little and I had less money and time.
Nails - Rimmel supergel in English Rose - one coat takes one minute and dries in two. Cheap and gives groomed look.
Good multivitamin plus omega three fish oil capsules. Drink lots of water. Minimise carbs for a while except sweet potatoes and cooled white rice.
I had cash for one luxury - I chose hair. I paid for colour and cut every six weeks. Absolute priority for me. Found good but cheap place that used Colorherbe organic dye. Can also buy online but I’m not a fan of DIY when it comes to hair. In between colours or if hair thinning, forget spray on roots - powders much better. Eg Colour wow.
Rosehip oil from health food shop or pharmacy is fantastic for face. Also look for good brands available cheaply in TK Maxx. Eg Ren ; Hyaluron hylamide serum for a fiver also good.
Finally try to do something nice for yourself that makes you happy to be alive every day even if just a cuddle with kid or dancing to some music.
