Vinted: selling items that are not on trend/newest trends?

I have loads of clothes that I want to sell. They are mainly high street and are in great condition but they are not necessarily the latest shapes or newest trends but styles that people still might wear. Think long tired dresses etc.

Will they still sell? Do you just mark as a low price?

I've found that there's no telling what people will want to buy. Some people actively search for shapes they used to love and can't find in the shops any more - I've definitely used vinted to replace things I used to love.

Absolutely try and sell them. One of the main reasons I use Vinted is to find styles that aren't availble in the shops at the moment.

Maybe list them at a higher price initially, and if they don't shift keep reducing until they do.

Ok, thanks sounds good. Will have a go.

I recently bought a Zara jacket from Vinted which was from 2002. I had it the first time round but gave it away and ever since regretted it. Was so glad to find it on Vinted!

So yes, just list them, I bet there’s many like me trying to hunt down old gems that were given away during the manic Marie Kondo phase Grin

Agree! Definitely advertise clothes it's recycling at its best.

(Torn/Rags go to charity shop for rag money.)

I sell lots of my clothes on Vinted that no longer fit me, some are several years old, not trendy at all, they just don’t fit me anymore. I sell for literally a few quid each but it soon adds up, I’m at about £200 now since November.

As PP has said, there will be people who want to replace a well-loved high street item of clothing that they can't buy new anymore.

To help them find what you're selling, use lots of good descriptive language to accurately describe it, e.g "pineapple pattern", "purple lace trim", etc. If they have to trawl through several thousand "size 12 green M&S skirts", they'll lose interest. However, if their beloved green M&S skirt had a pineapple pattern on it and a purple lace trim and you've written that in your description.. bingo they'll find it easily if they use those search terms!

I think this is exactly what Vinted is for. Most of, if not all of the items I have bought are things I either regretted not buying years ago, of replacements of much loved things I have had for years/seen better days/no longer have.

I've seen sellers add "vintage" to the title to help sell old oasis/warehouse/boden. Recommend that - people look for the old stuff as it was better quality back in the day.

Vintage clothing is supposed to be at least 20 years old.
