Has anyone tried the Trinny Plump Up Microneedle? Wondering if it's just a gimmicky tool or if it can make any positive difference to skin.

I'm interested too!

I've just seen an advert for this on social media with responses saying it's a bad idea and can cause damage to the skin. I think the needles on this must be tiny so not sure if this is true. Or if they are so tiny it won't do anything so it's a waste of time.

I got mine on Monday today is my second time using it. Not painful at all and my serums/cream sink in after using it far better I think, so far my skin felt better the following day (Tuesday) but it's too early to say if it is any good. It says to use 3 times a week for a maximum of 8 weeks. I'll update after the initial 8 weeks if you're still interested.

Watching with interest....

LateMumma · 14/03/2024 06:52

Not sure if the Trinny one is any different to a standard micro needle? If not, micro needling has been around for a while and definitely helps. I got mine on Amazon for less than £10

nopuppiesallowed · 14/03/2024 10:06

Do you use it after cleaning and before moisturising?

mommybear1 · 14/03/2024 11:02

Yes she advises to do a double cleanse and clean the needle immediately after using it leave it to air dry and then put away.

mommybear1 · 14/03/2024 11:03

Oops sorry sent too soon. Yes then apply serum and moisturiser/cream etc.

nopuppiesallowed · 14/03/2024 13:55

Thank you!

As far as I can see the only differences between the TW version and this one from Amazon are that one has her name and the other doesn't, and hers costs £44 while the other one is £6.99.

UpsideLeft · 14/03/2024 19:17

I watched a video of hers years ago where she was using a big standard cheap micro needle roller

She's been using them for years apparently so yes she seems to have just stuck her name on it and hiked up the price accordingly

Because of course people like to pay extra for they believe is a trusted name

You need to clean them properly and replace them often because the needles will bend in time causing damage to your face

0.5mm seems to be the norm

UpsideLeft · 14/03/2024 19:17

I bought one years ago but chickened out of using it

UpsideLeft · 14/03/2024 19:18

Bog standard

Yes

It's meant to be good if you have scaring

Do not use if you have and spots etc as that will cause damage only once spots have healed over
