it is terrible and i am not exagerating.

it is like 2 totally diffrent hirstyles and not in a good way, i had it done yesterday and dd2 was a nightmare in the shop so i left without getting it dried and it looked ok wet, i just left it to do its own thing as i was not going out again.

this morning i have washed and tried to style it and it looks terrible, i look really stupid.

it was supposed to resemble this sort of cut but it has gone so wrong.

the back is cut straight across and looks really frumpy she has made no effort to try and blend it all in and the two front sections are hanging like spaniels ears, she has taken so much of the front that the back is actually slightly longer

aaarrrggghhhh i have to go out soon.

oh sweetheart

go to a different salon - phone around first and explain until you get one with the right amount of sympathy and readiness to make a good job of it

where is cheynes, my friend used to go to moscows (or something like that) up the bridges and she liked them. untill they cut her ear one time

i believe the york place one is especially nice

i dont know colinton very well - i go to a place in corstorphine

my top tip for hairdressers is get a bloke stylist to cut your hair - they take extra care over how you look (IMO) and they are usually very funny to talk to

nailpolish · 26/03/2008 13:17

cheynes

try york place, but there are a few in town
phone them and see who can take you NOW

Be-ba Boom on Leith St is very friendly and nice. I've always been happy when I've had my hair done there. Stephen charges around £45 and is down to earth and easy to talk to.

i spent a fortune 5 weeks ago get my hair cut and coloured at cheynes on george st. they were really busy and i got a really crappy haircut and theydidn't even bother to comb the colour through. he said it was cos it didn't need it but the ends are all faded now and i think he forgot. i was there ages and was too shell shocked to complain. but if yougo to cheynes you need a name recommended cos cheynes have some duff hairdressers.

god i am bitter.

Haven't read whole thread, but this happenned to me a while ago, I kept my hood up for about a week. But when all is said and done, it will grow back. Surprisingly quickly.
SO my advice FWIW is try to laugh about it, through your tears and gritted teeth.
I finally ended up with a new shorter heairstyle, and a lovely new hairdresser. Everyone says it takes years off me (so how old did I look before? )

forgot to update the other day. could not get fitted in at any of the good ones, a friend of a friend is still training but came round to have a look and she has just tidied the back up for me. her advice is to let it grow for 6 weeks till the "style" pmsl grows itself out a bit then try and get it restyled. i did not have it in me to go back to the original shop i dont see what it would have achived. the damage was already done and i did not want her near me again.

I feel your pain. I went to the hairdressers for 'trim' back in November and have been growing out the damn mullet she gave me ever since. It's very nearly reasonable looking again.

It will grow.
