Elvive extraordinary oil shampoo and conditioner.
I've tried all the trendy methods involving avoiding silicones and SLS, doing " curly girl", tried posh expensive products etc. but not worth the extra hassle and expense.

I do avoid brushing and too much heat or lots of product and have a cut that doesn't need straightening and works with my wavy texture.II also only wash my hair twice a week.

Many people swear by wearing a silk bonnet to bed, I haven't tried that although have considered it.

I would cut out as much heat as possible as it will just make it more and more frizzy. Deep condition twice a week.

What method do you use to dry your hair? I switched to using an Airbrush about 2 years ago rather than hair dryer or natural drying- it has been a big help. My hair is so much less frizzy, it's quicker to dry and style, and I use much less heat overall this way as don't need my straighteners as often as I used to. Also using a salt & silicone free shampoo and conditioner helped me too.

Wash with conditioner, condition with a protein product (if your hair likes it) .leave a conditioner in it. Use Snot gel to style when soaking wet. Dry or air dry. When it frizzes the next day just add conditioner again. Works for me but I’m a curly girl. Mine hates coconut so may be products your using ?

Plus mine is wether dependents, in summer it can’t cope with anything with glycerin in so have to switch products.

Do you ensure your hair is completely dry when you finish styling it? Your hair might look perfect, but any residual moisture will manifest itself as frizz about two hours later.

I also find an oil based final product, like tigi bed head spray locks out moisture

Ooh and only brush when it’s completely wet !

Maybe try a keratin treatment if it’s frizz rather than dryness.

Agree with a previous poster saying make sure it’s 100% dry as if I leave any moisture at all in my hair when I’m blow drying it quickly turns to frizz.

I use silk pillowcases and not sure if that helps at all by they do feel nice to sleep on.

What hair type do you have?
If it's naturally curly but you style it in a way that goes against the curls, you might find yourself with frizz.

Saschka · 09/03/2024 16:03

Is your hair wavy/curly? Or straight and just in bad condition?

If it is actually curly under the frizz, and you’ve been straightening it, stop. Style it curly. Use lots of curl cream, leave in conditioner and oil, and put gel or mousse in it to hold. Don’t brush it between hair washes.

If it is genuinely poker straight, even when soaking wet, and just goes frizzy in humid weather, use a hair oil or serum to keep the moisture out.

I have thick coloured 2a/2b hair and absorbs water that I usually dry straight. It takes hours to have my hair dry naturally and is a complete frizzball if I leave it.

My favourite shampoo/ conditioner is tigi bed head in the brown bottles, shampoo the roots and condition the ends.

To towel dry, I squeeze with a towel, don't rub my hair and leave it wrapped in a towel for a while. I then apply styling cream and brush through. Blow dry with the nozzle pointing root down and finish off with a bit of extraordinary oil rub through with hot air brush to smooth down at the end.
Love my silk pillowcase too.

The biggest improvement to my hair has been washing and conditioning it twice a week, combing it through and spraying an anti-frizz product, then putting it in a turban and leaving it until it's about half dry. Leaving it is the key point I think.
Comb it through and use a hot air brush dryer on it rather than a hairdryer. I use the Revlon volume one, do the bottom section of hair first, then the top. Keep the hot air brush turning.
The most I need to do in between washes now is a teeny bit of straightening at the back if I've tossed and turned a bit in my sleep.
