Bubbliest bubble bath recommendations?

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 07/03/2024 17:40

I just want to relax in a nice hot bath with lots of lovely bubbles.

I have tried countless bubble baths, I’ve Google and looked at loads of websites for recommendations but they are all so disappointing.

I purchased L’Occitane Lavender bath foam this week after reading great reviews but it’s awful!

I don’t mind paying a bit more for something that does what it’s supposed to do but don’t want to throw good money after bad.

Can anyone recommend a good one?

If you just want quantity of bubbles then Matey is the way to go

There goes any hint of sophistication I might have had. They still make matey?!

I’m willing to try anything, and it’s got to be cheap - thanks I’ll have look!

Or Badedas. A trick is to dribble the bubble bath very slowly into the water running out of the tap while running the bath. Takes about 3-4 minutes with a very thin trickle, but you end up with big drifts of bubbles at the end.

Yes, and matey's mates if you wanted to collect them. Radox used to be good but I've not tried it for 5 years.

Yes and also if you swirl it a lot with your hand that can help

ZombieBoob · 07/03/2024 17:52

Get a big whisk too

Dartmoorcheffy · 07/03/2024 17:54

Good old radox is absolutely fine. I use a back brush to swirl it all up.

Jennalong · 07/03/2024 17:54

Any cheap one but pour lots in !

I have tried used that lots but maybe need to revisit with the slow trickle approach!

I have not tried a whisk or a back brush, I don’t have the latter.

I want maximum luxurious bubbles with minimum effort!!

I love a bubble bath and think Radox is fine. I have a Laura Mercier one and while it smells lovely I find it too greasy if I put a lot in.

Neal's Yard aromatic foaming bath has a gorgeous spa like scent too.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 07/03/2024 18:17

This is probably a useless suggestion, otherwise you'd have tried it, but we have a spa-type bath with holes in the bottom. If you put bubble bath in the water and switch on the spa effect, you can fill the bath with bubbles. Ask me how I know 😂

I’ll have a look at the Neal’s Yard one too, thank you.

Badedas

It's dreamy and bubbly and amazing

I do the slow (not that slow...!) trickle technique and a swish around with my hand and it's fab.

Vicliz24 · 07/03/2024 18:20

Another Badedas lover here . I always have lots of bubbles and find the scent so relaxing.

Kathryn91 · 07/03/2024 18:21

I’m in a bath full of matey now, pure bliss

SevenSeasOfRhye · 07/03/2024 18:21

Imperial leather - recommended previously on here, funnily enough, which is why I started buying it.

TomatoSoup69 · 07/03/2024 19:09

The Waitrose Chamomile one is very bubbly and smells soft and comforting. It's also so cheap you can go wild for maximum bubblage.

Heartbreaktuna · 07/03/2024 19:35

The most effect way is to put the bubble bath in with no water first, then stick the power shower on at the highest setting and blast it for 5 minutes. Million bubbles! Only works if you have an over bath shower of course......

Bananaforscale1 · 07/03/2024 19:57

Second Radox and a whisk/sieve to really whip it up.

Also love Neal's yard foaming bubble bath but it's quite pricey (I have about three baths a week on average!) so get that for Christmas or birthday.

spanieleyes · 07/03/2024 20:02

Just got out of a badedas bath! Lots of bubbles for a little squeeze, a bottle goes a long way, much better than some expensive bubble baths!

MadelineWuntch · 07/03/2024 20:04

I'm another one who has just had a Badedas soak this evening. It's a classic

Frumpitydoo · 07/03/2024 20:13

Go Matey for thrush.
Badedas wins my vote, and if you've a Home Bargains near you, it's a third of the price of the other chemists.

EatingSleeping · 07/03/2024 20:16

Matey is very harsh. I'm not sure how it made it as a children's bath! Avon dona really reasonably priced 1 litre bubble bath that has impressive bubbliness! I do think pouring into the tap stream works well too

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 07/03/2024 22:03

I’ll revisit the Badedas again I think then trying the slow trickle and the shower trick.

Thrush from Matey?! Is nothing safe?!
