How long do you let your Botox wear off before a top up?

Does your practitioner say it has to totally wear off before they will re-inject?

I really hate doing that as feel it makes it much more obvious when I go from really wrinkly to smooth each time so would prefer to get a top up at the first sign it’s wearing off but he says no it’s safer to wait until it’s all worn off then a further couple of weeks then have it.

What have your experiences been?

Every May and November religiously. I find it odd people need it more often. I've been having it for years , I started for deep lines which it disappeared and the prevention of any extra wrinkles is a bonus.

Do you really find it odd that people need it more often? Do you normally struggle to understand people's bodies are different? Strange thing to say.

@Icedoatlattelove yes I do find it odd as everyone I know that has it pretty much has it twice a year. Yes obviously bodies are different, thanks for the snippy sarcasm, but generally if done correctly, it should last longer than it is for some people. Your take on a weird comment is weird.

People metabolise it differently. If you’re very active it will wear off quicker. Also the more you have it the longer you can go between appointments.

It does wear off at the 3/4 month mark for many people. I don’t personally want to have it every 3 months, I think that’s too much but others may want it redone the minute it wears off.

I do love mumsnet for the accusations of being arsey with absolutely no self reflection at all. Interesting everyone you know has it that often as I've never met anyone who does. Yet I can comprehend people are different. It's the not being able to own it for me. If you are going to be snippy at least stand by it. Rather than pretend you were just saying. It's embarrassing and fake.

@Icedoatlattelove you're far too invested. Embarrassing and fake? Pretending about what? What on are you talking about?

I haven't had it for a year now but I used to have it about every 5 months. I went to a Doctor and he would always offer the 2 week check up for any tweaking.

I metabolised it after about 2 months. Very annoying. Highly unlikely to try it again after that, especially as it was done for medical reasons - expected to be good for six months!
(also extremely obvious it had gone - the pain came back!)
