Has anyone bought shoes from Wolky or Vivaia?

Have mild bunions, quite wide flat feet and am fed up with being uncomfortable so looking for wide fit decent shoes, specially boots. Have found a pair from Calla which are nice but looking around as they are not cheap so want to be sure I’m getting the best. didn’t like any of the Sargasso and Grey styles.
anyone has experience with Wolky shoes?

Also, keep seeing these Vivaia ads on MN - anyone bought their flats? They look like nice summer flats

While we're talking bunions, I hope it's OK for me to point out that Flip flops exacerbate bunions. I had no idea and lived in the damned things.

I spend a lot of time barefoot/just socks - is it the same problem?

Barefoot walking is actually meant to be good for bunions. I think it's the way your toes grip on to the flipflops to keep them on your feet that encourages the bunions.

I tried all sorts when I got Morton’s neuromas and only three brands worked for being pain free (good cushioning). Hotter shoes, Wolky and Skechers. The only Wolky ones that worked for me cushioning wise were the Jewel sandals. But they do make a range of shoes for bunions as well. Hotter do some shoes in a wide fit. They’re not as glamorous as Wolky maybe but the walking shoes are good and ok. I couldnt wear shoes at all before I found these and it saved me from surgery. Skechers dlites are good fur trainers and I more or less live in those and the Wolky Jewel sandals but sometimes you don’t want to wear sandals. The only other thing is Crocs - they have enough cushioning to prevent pain for me and I’d think they are wide enough for bunions as well. Crocs are great for comfort but not all the time.

There are various designs in Skechers dlites - both colour wise and style wise. Some I found had too high an arch support for me but most were fine. The ones I wear are called dlites “biggest fan”.

The Wolky jewel sandals come in lovely colours and quite a few to choose from. Those are my smarter wear.

All expensive of course. I have some Romika boots as well which are supremely comfortable but not sure if they do wider fit shoes. The key seems to be good cushioning and a proper rubber sole - normal comfort wear feels hard compared to these.

Edit. I’d warn against any type of ballet flats or very flat shoes. Podiatrist said it was wearing those that caused my Morton’s neuromas. They are too flat and make your toes grip inside when walking. Podiatrists recommend the best shoes have at least a one inch heel and higher at the back than the front. Things like Echo shoes (they didn’t work for me though).

Some of the Wolky shoes have a very slight rocker sole which helps as well.

I just had a look at the Vivaia site and the shoes do look a bit like ballet flats.

These are the Wolky Jewel - they’re podiatrist recommended as well but don’t know if they’d be good for bunions or not - depends where they fit on your toes. If it’s big toe they should be fine.

The Josef Siebel shop sells Romika shoes

Skechers are a good budget option.
