Sorry- just seen it’s too dry!
Oil treatment and leave in conditioner - just some rose hip or argan oil overnight before washing.

I have similar hair to yours OP. I've taken Biotin for approx three years. It doesn't make mine glossy or less dry. I use it to reduce hair shedding and it does work (eventually).

I've tried Moogoo (useless), Mane & Tail (usual supermarket standard products) and loads of more expensive ones such as K18, Redken, Colour Wow etc. Colour Wow is my current favourite and I really notice when I haven't used it. I recently bought a Dyson airstrait to see if that improves it (used twice so far and to be honest not that impressed).
My hairdresser uses demi colour but it washes out quite quickly and I can't afford to spend £150 every six weeks.
I think if yours is actually changing colour, you need to go to a decent salon for a consultation and spend the time working with them until you/they achieve a colour that works. Your current salon isn't good enough.

All Biotin did for me was given me nightmares!

My DSis's hair looked like that - so dry. She started taking Biotin supplements and two weeks later, her hair was all glossy. I couldn't believe the change. She dyes it and uses heated tongs on it daily, so it does dry out.

Try biotin.

Your hair doesn;t look grey btw. It's a lovely colour imo. (Not that grey isn't.)

Biotin has transformed my hair, along with Luseta Black Jamaican Oil shampoo and conditioner.

Also use horse shampoo Grin

But for previously strawberry blonde hair going grey I’d use a mix of henna & rose powder or manjistha

Henna is good for hair (get pure ground leaf only) and covers greys but ofc can be bit orangey, can be bit messy

The latter two powders can be used with henna to move it more towards red - my greys come out strawberry blonde/red gold with this mix & dark brown bits go deep burgundy

If nervous of the henna though you can leave it out & just mix either of the others into a conditioner to apply

This looks interesting. Can I ask where you buy it and what type of hair do you have?

Namehascahnged · 02/03/2024 16:47

learieonthewildmoor id love it if i could achieb that - but my dyed red is a base 7 and not light blond say like a level 9 .
its the red hair that is darker than my now natural grey that i really wanted to disappear!!!!!😂

Proper argan oil, not from the supermarket, check the ingredients are just argan oil. I got some from amazon for £8. It made such a huge difference to my dry coarse hair. Applied on wet hair, only need a little bit, I used about a teaspoon 1st and my hair actually seemed oily which was a new experience! When wet I just use the tiny bit, and add a bit more when dry if needed. Gamechanger for me.

learieonthewildmoor · 02/03/2024 16:57

My hair was dyed red brown, toner turned it soft golden blonde.

I use Dreamcoat supernatural spray. I use quite a lot of the product - up to ten sprays.

I have dry hair and have also tried everything.

Olaplex (made it drier), k18 (helped a bit, but too expensive) and every conditioner on the market. The best thing I have found is Lisaplex. It is different to Olaplex and cheaper. You are only supposed to leave it on for 9 seconds after washing, but I comb through and leave for a couple of minutes before rinsing out. It has made a huge difference.

I use it once a week. This one

What tonor and did you apply yourself?

Crucible · 02/03/2024 21:52

Namehascahnged · 02/03/2024 13:33

Crucible she said to deep condition and get it in better condition - i used osmo deep condition mask - its made it drier! Goodness kniw why !

Ooh that's not useful, I'd guess you have tried a few conditioners. Maybe try Mane and Tail Conditioner - I've heard it does great things. It's a horse formulation.

@Bringtheweatherwithyou
This is the one I use, I have blonde hair, naturally curly but was really damaged from straightening. I noticed a difference within weeks.

learieonthewildmoor · 03/03/2024 02:08

I have no idea what toner - I went to the hairdresser.
