Denim dress for someone with boobs...

Asking for help with a long running problem. I've had a hankering for a denim dress since last summer.

Ideally I'm looking for: dark blue denim, pockets, knee or calf length, skater style is my preferred. Reasonable budget (ideally £80 or less).

Would prefer to avoid: button up styles, pockets on the chest that don't sit properly, belts.

How can this be so hard? I'm a size 12 and have a bosom but my boobs aren't bigger than my head or anything.

Over the last few months I've tried Roman (first time). Started with a 12 and it wouldn't go over my chest, by the 14 it was baggy everywhere else.

And then this week I went Nobody's Child. Beautiful dress but the 12 won't do up, I'm not sure the 14 is big enough and while I wouldn't mind trying a 16 for comfort it's now sold out.

Has anyone seen anything that might help please? I've done plenty of middle of the night Googling but I just can't see anything that works. Am I just trying at the wrong time of year?

I would look for a denim wrap shape dress to make the most of your bosom.

I’m top heavy and have this. It’s very classic and flattering. I’ve worn it loads - I’m 5’5 and it’s just at the top of my knee. Levi’s denim dress

Funny enough, the pockets minimise, rather than accentuate in this style.

I havn't tried this, but I am a 16/36G and have had a lot of success with Sainsbury's dresses.

I second this. So many styles are high necked and just look matronly on me cos I’ve got big boobs. And wrap styles all too often gape at the chest. It’s so hard to find either a nice v or scoop neck

I’m a curvy size 14 with big boobs and just bought the Scamp & Dude denim dress (dark blue) recommended on here - it’s fab! So flattering! I love it so much that I’ve just ordered tne black one too ☺️

If you are still searching, have a look at Roman as well. I bought a shirred denim midi dress from them last year which is lovely. The material is much thinner than the S&D but it is still a very nice and flattering fit.

Do you mind me asking what the sizing/ fit is like on the scamp and dude dress? The measurements given on the website implies that it is much more generous in the waist than the chest.... Would a 34 G fit the 14 do you reckon? Or better to go for 16 and tighten the belt?

I’m a 36DD, so a much smaller cup size and the dress fits snugly over my chest - could you order the 14 and 16 to try?

I think they do a button up one as well but I bought the zipped version recommended on here.

I hear the button up S&D one is tighter fit .

I'm a 14 on top (36E) and 16 on bottom in clothes elsewhere. I bought the 16 in this because I didn't want it to be super tight on my hips and bum. It was far too baggy on top. I bought the 14 and it's perfect not fits comfortably on top, not tight, but is comfortable and so flattering on the bottom half.

There's a Scamp and Duders Facebook group with endless photos of people trying on the clothes and discussing the fit. If you ask on there people will share pics of them wearing it.
