The different at home LED Light masks/ domes

I’m thinking of getting an LED light mask or dome.

I was about to embark on a series of salon facials which include a 15- min red light session under a dome. I had one session and it cost £140. Also, my 2 teens have mild acne and I dropped £80 on a facial for one of them, and they had a 15- min blue light session. Now my other DC and husband are saying they want in on the facial action. 😄

I’m thinking perhaps it’s more cost effective to buy one we can all use.

I’m wondering if buying one for a couple of hundred quid is a false economy? Perhaps not strong enough compared to the results I’d get from a regular salon trip? At the other end, is a dome LED OTT since I’m not setting up my own salon? Is there a happy medium, a product that will give me salon results, at home.

Also, I’m fine with the dome, but those Stormtrooper masks send me into a bit of a claustrophobic gasp.

Any recommendations? Thx

One DH and I can use for red light, for anti ageing, and blue for teens.

Hi @RaspberryStrawberryBlueberry , just wondering how you got on with the led mask? I am thinking of purchasing the boost LED mask but their website states that they have only trialed on 16 yr up so is at the parents discretion. My Son is 15 with quite bad acne. Do you know if they are safe for that age? Thx for any advice

If he’s got bad acne it may not help it’s for moderate acne. Is the dr moving through the treatment options for him?

I’ve just bought a second hand LAB LED light for £50, as I was curious but didn’t want to spend hundreds. I don’t know if it’s because I’m paying more attention but I deffo think my skin looks better after a few weeks use. This one has different settings so you could run all your families needs off one mask. It is the storm trooper version though, and if o think about it too much I get claustrophobic under there. It helps I’m in bed and can just lift the edges though!

@FormerlyPathologicallyHappy thanks for replying - yes, he’s been on antibiotics for about 6 months and it’s really improved but he has some surface scarring and redness that I’d like to improve. Also thought if he comes off the antibiotics soon it might help to prevent it getting bad again. It was more that I can’t find anything online so say it is safe for a 15 year old to use red light therapy so wanted to check it wasn’t going to damage his skin in any way. The mask I was looking at was the boost LED face mask by the light salon which says studies have only been done for over 16’s and younger is up to the parent

Oh in that case he needs red light for scarring, vit c serum and a sunblock. The red marks are hyperpigmentation and sun light will make them worse.
