Night cream for late 40's

Hi all - I use a lovely serum but am after a night cream. I'm late 40's, skin no real problem areas (occasional rosacea but I manage that with Soolantra as/when needed), just developing wrinkles/smile lines around the eyes and forehead.

I was looking at the CeraVe night cream for affordability, but looks like you can't get it in the UK. One blog recommended an Estée Lauder one but at £88 it's a bit pricey unless it's guaranteed results !

Rest of my face creams/serums are Clinique & Ren so looking for max price similar to those......

Any ideas please :)

PS - I don't use retinol or any of the other things like that.

I have terribly sensitive skin including rosacea and acne and I only use Estée Lauder (serum, cream, cleanser, and now eye cream too). I’ve realised if I stick to that and suck up the costs (they are eye watering!) my skin stays near perfect. Certainly the best it’s been for any of my adult life and I’m now 42! It does seem a lot, but actually it’s a false economy for me to buy other creams and then discard them cos a suspicious rash has appeared somewhere on my face or neck…

I have started to use this, and I absolutely love it. I wanted to stop putting so many chemicals on my skin, but never really found natural products quite as effective. But after two weeks my skin is so soft.

A little seems to go along way too. I've got the night cream and serum

I use the Revolution Miracle Cream - it's a cheaper alternative to the Charlotte Tilbury magic cream. It's really lovely.

Have you ever tried castor oil? I use it every night and my skin is better at 40 than it was at 25. And cheap in comparison. I do use retinol serum before the castor oil though.

Deathraystare · 22/02/2024 09:49

@LittleSF

Yes I bought that recently and thought here goes nothing but it feels lovely on the skin.

@dgirluk

I am sure I have seen the night cream. Try Boots or Amazon or some other chemist.

My favourite is the M&S ultimate night cream, it smells lovely and is really densely moisturising. I use it over a retinol serum.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 22/02/2024 10:55

I use cerave night moisturiser. Get it from boots or amazon. I get little thread veins and it's hugely helped reduce them

I've recently discovered a brand called Pai and their products are lovely. Organic, cruelty free and it's a female owned company and all manufactured in the UK.

They do a a night cream and they have a 90 day money back guarantee when you buy from them.

I don't use their night cream but do use their Retinal (not Retinol) drops which are formulated for sensitive skin dropped into my cheapie Aldi night cream and am seeing good results.

Also can vouch for their Rosehip oil and cleanser and their eye creams. I love that if I don't get on with a product I can just send it back and I've not just bombed her more cash down the drain in my pursuit for slightly less haggard skin (I'm 48)

dgirluk · 22/02/2024 12:01

Ahh I've found Cerave PM - maybe that's the same as I was looking at on the US site, but with different name and packaging ! Thanks everyone

I've been using Nivea creme (blue tin) with a blob of jojoba oil mixed in. It's really moisturising and the oil is surprisingly light compared to others.

I use this to and I love it

M&S overnight cream is good. But I love Lumene products. The overnight sleep cream is divine, smells amazing and lasts for ages. V gentle.

MancMa · 24/02/2024 07:21

I use the L’Oréal manuka honey one for over 60’s, which I’m not , but it’s lovely and rich. I usually wait till it’s on the Boots £10 Tuesday and get a couple.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/02/2024 07:21

I've been using CeraVe PM for years but recently tried Aveeno Calm and Restore night cream which is incredible.

Blixem · 24/02/2024 07:25

Another vote for the M&S night cream. I've used all sorts including cerave, clarins and Estee lauder and I like the M&S one the best. Its only £22 a pot too.

rainywednesday34 · 24/02/2024 07:27

Aldi day cream and night cream… no kidding! I love them 😍

DarlingCoffee · 24/02/2024 08:47

I use Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide

Minesnotahighhorse · 24/02/2024 09:04

I also have rosacea prone skin and a dermatologist recommended Cetaphil night cream. Not fancy but my skin loves it!
