washing face with filtered/bottled water

I read an article that tap water can be really damaging for skin , and you should either filter a jug of water or use bottled water .

Do you think it's a waste of time/ (or money on bottled water) doing this or actually will benefit skin ?

I leave my skin dump after washing face as hyaluronic serum straight after , so was wondering whether i should start filtering....

I think this is a step too far.

Your face will get wet in the shower or bath 🤷‍♀️.

I think mains water softeners are a good idea but costly.

I live in a very hard water area and my skin is fine, I think it’s more my hair that it affects.

Maybe would be good idea just to rinse face/ hair after with filtered water .. We don't have good quality water either

On the one hand I’ve known annoying differences in water quality between say London and Manchester. On the other - too many people have scarcely any water at all. There are limits to solipsism …

Maybe try getting a healthy glow from philanthropy?

Why not attach a water filter to your shower/ tap to avoid waste?

i think that's the best option as water quality where i live is not the best to say the least

thank you X

Where's the source for this nonsense? (eg, was any research into this sponsored by bottled water or water softener sellers?)

If it's not the UK, bear in mind that other countries may have much lower standards for their piped water. I also think "may" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that second statement you uploaded - and unless you have skin problems that are made noticeably worse by washing with the tap water in your home, you should ignore this.

Nah I tried but couldn't do it or even finish a single Evian bottle bought for that purpose... Turns out I can only wash my face in warm water and keeping that bottle right temperature is not an easy task. Heating is off at night so in the morning that water is ice cold and running around with cups to microwave it, run back upstairs to proceed with washing is just ridiculous.

It depends what the actual benefit would be and your perception of it. And what margin of benefit would you gain for the effort involved?

The screenshots you’ve attached use words like may/might.

It depends what else you’re putting on your skin. Fragrance in skincare is a known irritant for example and I’d think that is far worse than water.
