Aging fluffy hair

My hair texture just gets worse and worse... It's greying and I get it coloured. It's nice and shiny when the hairdresser has done it, but when I do it I end up with dry, fluffy-looking hair. What do you all use?

I mostly go for SLS-free products, and am currently using John Frieda Dream Curls shampoo and conditioner, washing it about once a week. After that I used to use Sheamoisture Curl & Shine, but now that seems to be drying. Sometimes I use John Frieda Frizz Ease products, which seem ok for a while and then by the end of the day I'm fluffy again. I've used Argan Oil but it seems a bit greasy.

Any ideas? I'm fed up of looking fluffy! I wouldn't mind a wet-look product maybe.

Just seen me and @Cathbrownlow have completely opposite techniques! Grin I air dry and wear my hair curly, if that helps.

I feel your pain - I am more frizzy than fluffy. I use Argan oil and the I think its L'oreal wonder water as a rinse helps as does Garneir Banana hair drink. Both a bit pricey. I realise frzz and fluff arent totally the same but similar.
On a bad day I look like I've done 10 laps round the Amazon - jungle not on line shop!!! Good luck

Sorry I didnt read properly - use a minute amount of Argan oil. Mine was greasy as I had slathered it on.

My hair goes particularly fluffy if I dry it from the inside out, so Dyson air wrap isn't great on my hair.
I use a flat brush attachment, which is great to smooth hair from above whilst blow drying, I just rough dry to about 80% and then keep brushing through with it, so the heat from above is smoothing the cuticle downwards and not fluffing it upwards. The T3 one has teeth on the edges of the brush so it gives a nice bend to the hair at the end of the blow dry.

If you're wanting to wear your hair curly I'd recommend the only curls range. They do shampoo conditioner curl cream gel. I have fine hair so was recommended to use more of the conditioner as a curl cream and then the gel. If you are gray/white they have just brought out a purple shampoo and conditioner as well.

I've had the same fluffy/frizzy annoyance going on for ages. Hair is wavy, especially at the back, looks great when wet, but won't dry into nice curls, no matter how I style it or what products I use.

Had a massive penny drop when I last went to the hairdresser. It always looks great when she has blow dried it - and I realised that doh - it's because she does a proper old-style blow dry. ie - dry it till it's actually dry and the cuticles go flat and shiny. She makes it flick at the ends - so although the curls are blow dried out, it still has bounce and movement.

Gamechanger. I realised that although I've been using a hairdryer and/or Babyliss Big Hair, I give up before it's completely dry, and that's when the frizz sets in. So now I dry it till it's actually dry, and voila, I have a hairstyle rather than a stupid fluffy cloud.

Hope this helps someone.

I also like Philip Kingsley Elasticizer.

I got some Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly and Curl Jelly refresh and am seeing an improvement. I've tried washing + curl jelly + drying naturally (looked good) and washing + curl jelly + drying with diffuser (looked better). It does drop a bit when I've slept on it though.

Really though I need sample sizes of all the suggestions here, and then to wash it every couple of days with something different (or maybe style each side with something different) to compare results....
