Completely black trainers

Any recommendation for completely black trainers

Must be super comfy please but not Skechers.

I'd prefer totally black but a small logo in colour would be ok

Prefer a brand rather than a high street store.

I wouldn't go for black trainers normally, but when abroad recently I needed a new pair of trainers urgently. Long story with the ones I had brought, accidental damage!

Anyway I have awkward feet (many do) so I was hunting around looking and looking and found a wait for it...... Skechers outlet. The only pair that fit me properly were all black. I bought them for 50 quid or something. Well now listen up.... they are the most comfortable pair of trainers I've had for a long long time. All day walking no problem, light as air yet supportive too, which I don't think Skechers are noted for. I don't have PF but I do have some gout related arthritis in my big toe. No problems there either.

Just thought I'd shout it out. I had to leave the box behind, so I can't remember the style or give a link, but they are similar in shape to the ozweegas above.

@Hohofortherobbers good question work and pub but two separate pairs

For pub is a perfect description - something to chuck on with jeans and a t shirt or jumper instead of my current AF 1 in white or DM shoes

I hate my AF1 they crucify my feet. I think they are the wrong size maybe: not too small, just seem wrong and seem to have my foot in a choke hold but somehow Confused

And maybe a different t pair for work - to wear with skirt dresses etc as we have dress code but my PF allows me to wear trainers

I’ve just got some all black new balance and they are extremely comfortable and I can get away with wearing them at work

I’ve got my eye on a pair of these!

thedendrochronologist · 19/02/2024 22:21

Which are the NEW BALANCE ONES?

Vans do a completely black version (apart from logo at back in red). And like all vans, they fit my feet instantly with no breaking in period.

I have a completely black pair from Carvela.

The sparkly trainers with no laces?

MrsGaryKemp · 19/02/2024 23:11

Oh no, now I neeeed those ON trainers in all black!
I have another pair in a light grey colour and they are unbelievably comfortable.....

MissSookieStackhouse · 19/02/2024 23:57

I’ve got some all black Nike ones. They’re perfectly comfortable but I always feel like I’m wearing my son’s trainers as the style is a bit man-ish. In retrospect I think I’d have preferred something with a bit of trim or something to lift the dead black.

How have your AF 1s been wear wise?. I had some expensive limited edition ones last year and they had to go back for a refund after 3 months as wore out inside

Am surprised to hear that. My first pair of AF1s lasted me abaout 5y and I thrashed them. Have 2 on the go now including the black ones and they are already 3y old and look barely worn. I do buy kids ones though as have small feet maybe they are better made?

The black ones are the Goretex ones which are utterly indestructable. I wear them to watch kids Rugby, hiking, trekking, regular transatlantic trips, hikinh round volcanoes and I don't think I've ever had to clean them - the mud literally falls off.

Nike air max 90's I wear them for work. So comfy

sianiblews · 20/02/2024 06:09

I have some plain black Adidas and Saucony, from sport shoes.

I love them as they look cleaner for longer.

Fran92 · 20/02/2024 06:15

@thedendrochronologist New Balance 327, they sell all black, very comfortable

NigellaAwesome · 20/02/2024 06:18

Black hokas, bondi SR.

Super comfortable and supportive. All black, non slip sole.

girlgonenorth · 20/02/2024 06:38

I’m waiting for these to come back into stock in my size, not the cheapest but I’ve got them in another colour and they are the most comfortable thing ever to grace my feet https://www.onitsukatiger.com/gb/en-gb/gsm-sd/p/1183b403-001.html

I second these! The most comfortable shoes I've worn in ages, can walk all day in them too.

cheapskatemum · 20/02/2024 07:02

Reebok classics, I've worn them for years. I did use a special insole from my podiatrist in them when I had plantar fasciitis though, as they don't have much instep support. This isn't a problem when I don't have plantar fasciitis.

Aren’t Hoka the trendiest trainers these days?

Cheeesus · 20/02/2024 08:06

Those are very similar to mine except mine are Nike. The only thing is the insode near the heel gets worn away easyfrom slipping them on and off

cheapskatemum · 20/02/2024 08:31

Air Force 1s & in fact Nike trainers in general just aren't as comfortable on me as Reebok. I love the way they look, but have learnt the hard way to stick to what works for me.
