natural baby products - do they exist ???

Hi - I'm wondering what people use on the babies/toddlers for moisturising / bath etc. I'm pretty shocked at the ingredients of most of the standard retail ones that you can get (even chemist brands or so called 'organic' baby brands). Does anybody else worry about this? Any good products you could recommend that are completely natural? (I've just been using pure shea butter or almond oil)...

I agree, a lot of synthetic ingredients with a meaningless “natural” label stamped on them. Try Green People and Weleda, but yes for the most part pure oils are the safest.

Weleda

I just used warm water to wash and didn't use lotion etc except when my dc had eczema briefly. Never had any issues. They don't necessarily need moisturiser.

For a newborn water only, then a natural bar soap all over including hair. You can get some lovely handmade goats milk or olive oil type ones that actually work out way cheaper than liquids because they last longer. Babies don't really need lotions just a bit of olive oil for massaging if needed. Weleda calendula nappy cream is brilliant though

We generally just used water and occasionally weleda. Oldest DD11 still uses the baby shampoo as she loves it.

sesame oil

We used Weleda calendula oil and also Neals Yard base moisturiser from their 'Create Your Own' range because it was just a basic thick moisturiser which was brilliant for eczema.

Water only until they are actually dirty and then as per pp some soap. For dry skin phases we used creams such as aveeno or other plain white cream.
