I love a tan but being winter I think I would look silly with one right now. I used to get my nails done with BIAB but had to stop as have young children who always got upset whilst I was having it done and no time to myself. I've put on a bit of weight which I'm going to start and try and lose but I just feel I need a bit of a pick me up to make me feel more confident/less like a mess

Yes yes yes, I realise weight fluctuates naturally, but I also understand my body and how it’s super easy for me to put on weight. I don’t want to. I like being slim. Keeping track of my weight doesn’t mean i have an eating disorder, or am bonkers, or toxic… it means I stay the weight I want to be at.

i do all the things listed to stay as attractive, healthy and slim as i can be.

I eat well, I exercise well, am in a healthy weight range, not underweight or overweight.

i would think yo yo dieting would be harsher on your body, than being mindful once or twice a month after over indulging

That's fine

I do get that.

I apologise if I was a bit of a dick.

BUT I do think that constantly weighing oneself is indicative of an unhealthy relationship with your body.

I never weigh myself, because I don't need to, my clothes fit, I have a very loving relationship with food and the way I eat. It's not something I worry about.

Surely if you have a good relationship with food and your own body you're not hopping on the scales all the time?

You’ve said you’re from a tall and slim family and eat a lot. Awesome.

im not.

i have a great relationship with food and eating, and I respect and love my body and what it can do and has done.

Anyhows, looks like im not the only one who weighs daily, its nice to have figured out what works for me.

oh, and I’ve just painted my nails, also makes me feel good :)

That's all very good @nzeire.

I do love self-care

On the scales every day? Nope, that's not self-care. It feels like self-hatred.

We are just going to disagree here.

Which is fine.

We obviously have very different familial and personal relationships with food and our bodies.

I think that's ok.

I would caution against daily metrics though.

I can't see how that would ever be good.

I make sure I my hair is smooth and styled, so I blow dry properly twice a week but use a heated round brush in between washes, straighteners just make my hair look flat.

I try to wear clothes I really love, in plain colours, if I've not enjoyed wearing it, it immediately goes in the charity bag.

I always wear earrings.

I always wear perfume.

I can do my make up in 7 minutes, so always do.

I do have my nails and toes gel painted.

I also weigh daily - but I look at the trend over a week (I have a spreadsheet) If the trend is upward I then cut back a bit the following week. I gained 2 lbs over Xmas but its gone now.

I have been very overweight nd its easier to lose 2 lbs then 2 stone

If you want an app that does it for you, I use one called Happy Scale that tracks your 10 day average

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/02/2024 10:47

I can understand weighing every day, I need to weigh at least twice a week to keep myself in check.

I agree with the poster who said put yourself first as no one else will! I also like myself in comfies or smart clothes but perfume and nails done helps ( I do my own gels)
