Tall with big feet

I really struggle with nice footwear. I’m 5ft 8 and shoe size 7.5 or 8. Always 8 in flats like sandals and pointy shoes. I’m dating someone who is 5ft 11 and size 9. I feel so self conscious about both my height and my feet!! I don’t want to feel bigger than him.

so I struggle massively with footwear for occasions. I love dresses with heels but I feel like a giant so can’t. Doc martens look so massive on my feet. What kind of shoes can I wear that are fancy for cocktail bars etc and that go with skirts and dresses that have a really small heel and don’t look huge??

I know I need to get over it ideally but I’ve always had this complex so I need to manage it for now.

Any suggestions or advice appreciated!

I’m the same height as you and a EU 43. The same shoe size as my ex- husband and larger than more than one boyfriend.

The problem isn’t the shoes (although I agree and experience the same as everyone else wrt buying shoes), the problem is feeling uncomfortable when you have no need to.

I wear heels whenever I want, if it’s a problem- it’s definitely not my problem.

I have same size feet so avoid pointy toes as they look huge, and I'm not comfortable in heels so if I need to me dressed up (i.e. not in boots or trainers) I wear something like this

I'm 5'9 a size 11/EU 45. I can't actually buy shoes in the UK but Otto and Ivy is a newish brand and they have lots of different styles. If you have wide few there are a few options but I can't fit in their wide shoes so you may want to do a test buy.

I would love to get to this, and not be uncomfortable because it really is pointless, I can’t change these things about me. I definitely need to work on it!
