I can't work out if I have a cool undertone or neutral - what do you think? Thank you

Erborian do a Super BB cream that has a beautiful velvet " baby skin " finish as its very cool in Clair.
I use a tiny amount, it's a treatment also and they send you free gifts and other samples
You can get a 15 ml size to try.
ELDW is so thick and mask like 😬

Karensgoldleggings · 16/02/2024 17:49

Sorry its very neutral in the Super BB
The normal one is warmer

A 1 or 2 cool rosy I would say. Probably 1.

It shouldn’t be - the trick is not to trowel it on but to use it sparingly and to buff it in. I never look like I’m wearing foundation with mine but it gives me an even tone and I can see I’ve got foundation on when I remove it at night. I love my DW and have tried many foundations over the years.

I just want one that stays the same all day and doesn't disappear or seperate, but definitely want it to look like skin. What would you recommend? I'm open to ideas as long as it is long wearing 😊

If you go to the EL counter, ask to try the sheer DW too. It's just as long lasting but very lightweight. Lots of people don't like it because they find it too lightweight but I like it.

I've seen so many women claim DW looks natural on them and it's all in the application. Then they post picture and they obviously have no idea what mask like or natural look like. They look really cakey but are sure they look lovely. Its a shame as they could look so much better in something else

It's an old old formulation. It was great back in the day when nothing else stayed on so you had to sacrifice the finish for the longevity. Technology is constantly improving. There are so many better formulations now.

This woman for one. She wrote a review and thought the foundation looked great. It aged her about 20 years it's so crepey. It's settled into her under eye wrinkled and made all her pores stand out.

Totally agree.
It's a very old fashioned formulation and the whole full coverage thing is as well.
If there are problem areas use concealer or colour corrector then a lighter formulation for whatever finish you prefer.
If it's long wear you want use a setting spray, there are different types and finishes.
The mask look is dreadful, that woman has gorgeous skin in the before picture.

To derail the thread slightly, the thing about the blue/green veins thing has always baffled me as I can't actually picture what green veins look like! Aren't everyone's veins blue? I assume I'm a cool as my veins seem blue to me, but are green veins actually unmistakeably green? Or more of a bluey-green?

Not cakey here. If it’s cakey you’re putting too much on.

Here's another example. This girl is young and beautiful. But her skin looks terrible close up with DW. So mask like and it's settled into the under eyes and pores. And she thought it looked ok. It's abundantly clear that lots of people actually haven't a clue.

Cool neutral. Absolutely lovely skin op.

SirChenjins · 17/02/2024 23:28

That’s been applied very heavily as I said previously @tutttutt - but really, if someone wants a heavy look to their foundation that’s fine. I doubt I’d notice to any great extent though.
