Where do people shop for good quality basics/Trousers?

I have just been to EVERY SINGLE shop in my home town. I cannot find any decent basic long sleeve tops (not 3/4 length) with either a scoop/v-neck.
I am a cold soul, so always need long sleeves under everything to keep warm.
Also struggling with trousers, I am slim but straight (waist and hips almost same circumference)- high waisted look awful on me, and virtually all the wide leg trousers I try have inches flapping down!
I am flummoxed. I am 5'5, size 10 but athletic and I CANNOT find anything that looks half decent. Help me please :)
(FWIW can't stand Next, M & S, or most high street brands as I find the quality is very poor now and nothing looks good after the first wash)

I bought some beautiful black trousers in the anthropology sale.

Next (go to) scoop/ round next long sleeved tops have drastically dropped in quality recently. I've tried Sainsburys & Boden & M&S ones - so far not impressed by any of them.

I'm thinking I'm just picky now though lol

M&S have upped their game lately in my opinion. Have bought a few wide leg trousers that are wearing well for work and casually. Also their thermal long sleeve tops are great. Got some thin ones for wearing under other stuff and they keep me so warm without being bulky. Also have similar trousers from Zara.

Except they have changed their trouser lengths and if you are over 5'5"/5'6" they no longer cater for you. Longs have all but disappeared and their regular length sits around my ankles, at least 1.5" off the ground and I am only 5'6" but have a 31" inside leg.

Of all places the factory shop - or TOFS brought 6 pairs - black, navy, dark purple x2 of each every pair £15 on the sale so £90 in total. Long sleeved tops plain colours blue / black etc £ 8 each 2 for £15 - I don’t care if they get wrecked etc it’s work

If you want proper top quality, double fronted jersey tops, then Kettlewell is excellent- at a price. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I found their thermal tops pilled after one wear was so disappointing, read the reviews and others have said the same. My mum has previous year's ones and they are fine so may just be this years batch.

No I haven’t found that. I have 3. One is a roll neck thermal body in black- had 3 years and as good as new despite being worn regularly under dresses. The other two were a pack of 2 and still going strong a year on.

What about this Daisy Grace pair:

Uniqlo or Esprit. I am tall and Esprit in particular is good for long sleeve tops that cover the wrist.

Hi OP, I've just bought these trousers and would recommend:

Arket wool blend twill trousers

For the perfect fit, it might be worth getting trousers altered.
