Any advice on managing rosacea?

Hi, I'm in my early 50s and I've always had pink cheeks but I'm pretty sure I'm developing rosacea. My cheeks have a lot more tiny broken capillaries recently and now I'm finding they flame up even when I'm not warm or embarrassed and I'm getting tiny bumps on them too.
I know the flaming cheeks could be menopause related, though I'm not sure it's exactly hot flushes as the rest of me doesn't get warm.
Does anybody have any wisdom on the subject? I'm customer facing at work so I'd like to nip this in the bud if any way possible.

I'm generally in good health, about 10lbs overweight and rarely drink alcohol. I use a La Roche Rosay gentle face wash and Vichy moisturiser and wear tinted moisturiser every day. I've always had sensitive skin on my face.

IPL treatment at a laser type clinic - even the first round made a difference with me. It's great for general skin rejuvenation too (pigmentation etc). I had no luck with Soolantra which is the topical ivermectin cream often prescribed.

I’ve had it for decades (also in my 50s) and six or so months ago started on skin and me, which is one of those prescription creams. My skin has 95% cleared up. First month or so had a mild antibiotic coupled with niacimide and something else, and now it comes without the antibiotic. It’s not cheap but I frequently skip a month and use slightly less per go. I really really rate it tho.

Was there any downtime with the IPL, @BlackSwan ? I have read that it's good for broken capillaries.

This was me mid 40’s (peri menopausal). I read every thread going that mentioned rosacea and saw Soolantra mentioned frequently, got some from my gp and it cleared it (ok several months).
what works for one person doesn’t work for everyone, try one thing at a time and see what works for you.

@Bilingualspingual @LuckyCharmz did you also have broken capillaries? I'm not sure if they are a symptom of rosacea or if the bumps are unrelated to them.
I've looked at dermatologists near me but they all seem very expensive.

Zero down time with IPL. No make up for the rest of the day, if you count that!

I had bumps. Also some broken capillaries. I’ve used ipl as well with good results but the skin and me cream keeps the bumps down, which sometimes got quite bad.

I was put on a mild course of Roaccutane (1 month) to reduce the inflammation. I now take a maintenace dose once a week. IPL also really helped (uncomfortable but not painful, redness was gone by the time I left the clinic and was back in my car!)

Cerave all but cured mine, the hydrating wash and then the PM moisturiser. I can't use SPF, I have to stay out of the sun and wear a hat.

I found topical creams from Dr didn't work for me (though you often have to try this before they will prescribe anything else) I took daily oxytetracyclin for years and it helped. I don't take it now and skin is good. I find be super gentle and kind to skin, treat as super sensitive. No astringents , very gentle oil based cleanser and daytime dermalogica moisturiser dynamic skin recovery which has spf in it. One of the very best things for me is Neal's yard wild rose beauty balm as a night cream. It just works great for me
