I fancy a new piercing or two - help me choose

I have a regular conch in the other ear. Plenty of lobe space but fairly dainty ears overall. What would you suggest please?

and how tricky is it to get a photo of your own ear 😆

Great ear anatomy! I say Daith and two more lobes for now.

cherrypickles · 14/02/2024 20:07

What's your other ear like?

Also want another -
Just have single lobes atm

restingrichface · 14/02/2024 20:08

I also vote daith and another set of lobe piercings.

You have similar ear anatomy to Laura Bond (in attached photo) she sells nice jewellery - but I really like how she stacked her lobes - that would suit you plus the daith.

Conch, regular lobe and a high lobe in same position as that skull in the Laura Bond photo.

I was definitely thinking of replicating the skull position lobe on this ear. I like the multi look but need to have a think what other jewellery I could use in those positions.

I’ve only fleetingly pondered a daith before. Of the people I know that have had one I don’t think anyone has kept it so I think they are tricky to heal.

My daith is over a year old and only starting to settle now. Bit of a pain but well worth it.

ForensicFlossy · 14/02/2024 23:08

My daith took 6 months to heal and is generally fine now and I love it, the jewellery i have is very similar to the photo above. I am debating a small ring in my nostril and trying to convince myself that I'm not too old at 45!

RuinsLover · 14/02/2024 23:13

Using your photo OP because as you said, it’s tricky to get a photo of your ear!

If I already have two in each earlobe, which would look best as a third do you think?

Never too old for a nose ring. I had my nose pierced as a teenager so I’m now a 53 year old with a nose piercing.

My favourite non-lobe piercing is the Tragus - mine healed really well, it's somewhat tucked away so you're not always catching it with your hair. I've also had 3 flats ( 2 one ear, one the other ) and a daith which is quite recent but so far no issues.

AmoungUs · 15/02/2024 06:13

I suggested a daith because it’s been the easiest to heal for me. Weirdly easier than my third lobe.
Other easy one to heal has been my nostril, I had it done at the grand old age of 44 @ForensicFlossy . Get it pierced with a stud first though.

restingrichface · 15/02/2024 16:13

I have a daith that I've had for about ten years now. It took about 8/9 months to heal fully but it wasn't too bad as it's in the ear and not on the cartilage where hair etc can get stuck. The only thing to worry about is using earphones or earplugs.

HangingOver · 15/02/2024 16:16

Don't get a helix, it's like being shot in the head lol I have twelve in my ears and I swear the helixes take the bloody longest to heal too.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 15/02/2024 16:16

Daith and tragus go nicely together.

CJCreggsGoldfish · 15/02/2024 16:29

I love my forward helix. Not too painful and tucked away so easy to heal. My helix was an absolute pain in the arse to heal.

Brogues · 15/02/2024 21:04

Thank you for all the comments. Much appreciated and I’ve been looking at possible jewellery. Cart before horse! Pretty teardrop daith rings ❤️

I’ve always liked the look of helix piercings but I’m forever pushing my hair behind my ears so they weren’t my top choice. Ditto the forwards.

Tragus are pretty straight forward aren’t they? I originally went for a tragus when I came out with my conch - I’ve still no idea why I did a last minute change but I still adore the versatility of the conch.

Might cut up an 8mm ring to see if one fits in the daith space comfortably. If I do a good job it can be a no-pain piercing ;)

I’ve been looking at faux/flat rooks because I don’t like the extra bar space on traditional rooks but again the hair issue (and glasses).
