Facial oil/ moisturiser to minimise scarring after treatment

I’ve recently had some treatment on my nose and cheeks for Basel cell carcinoma and actinic keratosis- it looks like it’s been successful (yay no skin cancer!) but I’ve been left with red, slightly raised skin in the area treated. I’m not back at the dermatologist for a while, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas for scar reducing creams or oils (bio oil?!?).

Advice leaflet says I can use products and make up as normal now so there’s no restrictions there as far as I can see.
any advice or recommendations gratefully received!

Glad your surgery was successful ❤️
I'm sure Nadine Baggott recommended a specific brand for scarring of that kind a while back- I'll see if I can find it. It wouldn't have been Bio Oil I don't think.

After giving birth I had terrible stretch marks, I used Rosehip Rose Oil, a natural oil rich in vitamins A and E. It helps to reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. I ordered it on iherb and it helped me to get rid of stretch marks. Now my abdominal skin is firm and elastic.

I have been using the cerave moisturising cream for a long time for stretch marks and along with my tretinoin routine from skinorac.

I’ve ordered some rosehip oil - I think I remember using that after I gave birth? (That period is lost in a blur of postnatal depression!)

my niece also recommended a jade roller so I thought I’d give that a go too.

i’m just honestly pleased the treatment seems to have worked and the acute ‘scabby face’ stage seems to have passed. I got some lovely odd looks when I was dark and scabby.

Rosehip oil can indeed be soothing and beneficial for skincare, especially during postnatal recovery. I also got a discount on my first order yoursherbs.com/ So I'm very happy with result and nice offer😊

I’ve used Kelinul Scar tape on a surgery wound with very good results, they also make a cream.

How is your skin doing now, FrenchFancie? I’m off to the dermatologist next week and wondering about after care! Hope you doing well.

Bio oil is good to prevent scars.

@FrenchFancie I second Kelo cote as suggested by a PP. I had a scaly patch on my cheek under my eye that my consultant wasn’t happy with, so he brought me in to investigate (took away patches until the margins came back clear) and then stitched the wound. Keli cote had been recommended by a colleague so I used it. I’m very happy with the results. In the attached photo, the circled area is the scar. I’m not wearing any kind of makeup (just back from long hot walk!) so, when I have CC
cream or anything else on, you don’t see the scar at all.
