What shampoo would you use after this balayage?
My actual hair is black, I’m Asian, and I don’t want to be ginger or brassy!

That's so pretty. I use brass off shampoo by matrix - it's blue.
You can also buy blue shampoo, same idea as purple for blondes.

Balloonhearts · 10/02/2024 20:03

I really like it tbh. Are you wanting to tone it down or maintain it as it is?

Cuc · 10/02/2024 20:04

Oh thanks @MrsPerfect12 maybe I’ll try the aveda blue one then. Xx

A silver or violet colour mousse every 6 washes or so will help keep brassiness at bay. It's a lovely caramel colour, are you happy with it?

10ThousandSpoons · 10/02/2024 20:05

Buy some blue shampoo but don't over do it. Some people use so much their hair gets a blue tinge to it

Fuckitydoodah · 10/02/2024 20:05

Same as previous poster suggests, use a blue shampoo and conditioner. I use superdrug's own version. Think it's called Revive. I've also used the matrix one.

I've been happy with the superdrug one, and I like that they don't test any of their own products on animals.

Cuc · 10/02/2024 20:05

@ChishiyaBat is that something you can buy yourself or need the salon for? I’m feeling medium about it - like a change, had wanted more ashy brown, but I think my black hair wouldn’t lift the first time too much

Mine is very similar to that although my natural hair is much darker (almost black) and I have very olive skin. I just embrace the warmness as it suits my skin tone.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with yours but as we can’t see your colouring it’s difficult to say.

BoobyDazzler · 10/02/2024 20:09

I totally missed your bit I about having Asian hair. I would expect that that best lift they could get for a first time bleach without compromising your hair. It looks lovely. ☺️

ChishiyaBat · 10/02/2024 20:10

No you can buy it yourself. I like indola colour mousses I get it from the wholesalers, but ypu can actually get it on amazon for the same price. A change of colour is always disappointing in my experience, but the colour might grow on you after a few days.

Alchemistress · 10/02/2024 20:11

Make sure it's a true blue shampoo/ conditioner you use and not a generic 'purple' type as they won't work as the tones in your hair are nearer orange to yellow.

Looks lovely though OP Smile

My hairdresser always says the shampoos are too fierce and grab in the hair too much, she says the conditioner is better used on its own.
