Hairdryers

I have never had an expensive hairdryer. My last Babyliss died a few months ago and I picked up a cheap as chips one in Asda. It seems fine but now I'm older and my hair isn't as thick anymore, would a GHD or Dyson or Parlux make a difference?

Yes I think so. I have the Ghd Helios, I love it and there’s often discounts if your not bothered about the colour

I've the Dyson and love it. Dd and I have very thick hair and it dries it quick. It's also great for the dog as it's powerful even when not hot.

Thank you for the replies.

I have a GHD one, it dries the hair much faster and smoother than a cheap one.

This is what I got. They always discount the last seasons fancy colour one

I also like that the GHD hellos is designed so you can use each heat setting with each blowing setting. So many hair dryers I used in the past you could only use the hottest setting on the fastest blow. It's also easy to clean the filter. I love mine and wish I'd got it years ago.

I have a Diva Pro Intenso which is cheaper than the others you mentioned, (I paid about £45) but it is excellent. You can use all the heat settings with all the blow settings. I have very thick hair and it dries it really quickly.

I have a light (mini?) parlux and its brilliant and indestructible!

Thank you everyone so the result is you get what you pay for? Off to Google your suggestions x

The Dyson and parlux are worth the cost for curly, unruly type hair

It's pointless for my poker straight fine hair

In fact it flattens my hair further

DianaBarry5 · 10/02/2024 20:20

So a more expensive hairdryer is pointless for average straightish hair which just needs a bit of volume? Should I just stick to an average Babyliss or similar?
