Best brand for a makeover for 14 yr old

DD doesn’t wear makeup but would like to now and then. She only wants a very natural look - she’s got lovely skin so think along the lines of tinted moisturiser, mascara, blush and maybe a little eye shadow/liner. She’s definitely not into the fake lashes/orange skin/contouring/black marker pen eyebrows look - thank God.

I was thinking of booking her a consultation at a counter but can’t decide which brand would be best for a young natural look. I thought maybe Bobbi Brown - Does anyone have any suggestions please?

My teenagers have expensive taste in lip oil but other than that they are happy with more budget friendly makeup - ELF is very popular. 14 years olds want to experiment, there's no need for a full face of Bobbi Brown.

Sorry, I should’ve explained better - I’m not suggesting she needs a makeup bag of Bobbi Brown/high-end products. She just wants some ideas of colours/techniques that suit her to start with. So I thought a MUA at a counter could give her some pointers and then we’d have an idea of what sort of colours/products to get her from a cheaper brand.

We’ve played around with some of my makeup but she’s a completely different colouring to me and I’m only good at doing makeup on myself so I’m not much help to her!

…those Elf wands look nice and natural. I’d give them a go myself!

Colour Pop are a young teen friendly brand. Lots of colours, lots of cheap but nice products.

Revolution not bad, some decent eye shadow palettes. Have a wee nosey round Superdrug and check some brands out.

Have a look at Glossier , they do have a shop in London if you're local if not it's online, but very natural light products

If you pop into your nearest John Lewis, have a little look at the counters with her, really get a feel for what she's looking for.
Charlotte tilbury does tend to be a bit muted and is very on trend especially with teens.
YSL, Lancome and Christian Dior have all tended to go for a little more of a classic look too.
Whilst looking around, I'd see if any of their counters have anyone who's make up DD personally likes, and maybe see if they can give DD a consultation- they usually cost about £30, or are redeemable against purchase.
If you are comfortable, I would spend the money on a correctly colour matched tinted moisturiser or light coverage foundation whilst taking tips of colours and application process of other make up items from the appointment. Depending on who it is, sometimes they'll send you away with miniatures of their lip sets, mascaras, setting sprays etc which could also be lovely for DD as she gets to grips with make up.

Some boots stores have L'Oréal and No7 girls who can also be quite helpful, especially with teenagers.

Also, as you have mentioned brows not being big and overdone- I recommend benefit if/when she does want to have her brows shaped. They're a little more expensive at £18.50, but they'll do brow mapping and make the most out of her brows for her brow shape without any pressure to tint them, or cover them in loads of products that'll make them look dark or severe.

DD very much embraces the natural look which is achieved by a few Charlotte Tilbury items- she uses their primer, foundation and setting spray.
She uses a mixture of brands alongside, she loves Pixi and ELF.

As above, I'd take her to a counter in a big store. Bobbi Brown these days very much markets towards younger people and still do counter demos and compared to some (Tilbury and the Tango look etc) are still fairly natural. Nars, Clarins, Clinique too.
Or one of the biggies like Chanel and Dior whose reputation means they're not going to slap it on.

Do you have any big branches of Boots next to you? If so maybe pop along and see one of their beauty people and ask them to trial tinted moisturiser and eyeshadows on her from the more affordable ranges like Elf and Natural Collection. My big Boots have beauty mirrors in and stools if memory serves and their staff have not only helped me with how to apply a product ( Chanel bronzing cream) but also helped with what brushes to use from the likes of Real Techniques rather than having to buy an expensive Chanel brush.

Another one recommending Elf.
It’s very good quality & on a par with some of the more expensive brands.
The camo cream blushers are a dupe for the Rare beauty ones. Very pigmented.
The purple mascara, think it’s called ‘big wow’ is great. The satin camo concealer is spot on too.
Oh & the lip liners are £2 and really soft and creamy. I’m not a spokesperson, honest! I just think it’s a really good brand.

Thanks so much for all these suggestions!
I really want to try Elf for myself now…😁
