Lumi eyes?

Anyone tried this? I have decent skin but I'm very pale with dark circles, not very sunken but they do make me look tired and can look bad in overhead light. I don't really want fillers. I am also considering PRP for that area.

Any experience with lumi eyes? Also do I need a dr or nurse to inject this or can a skincare therapist do this? How does it play with other treatments like red light led, radiofrequency, microcurrent and micro-needling?

Following as also considering it.

I’ve had 3 sessions it’s ok. Nothing dramatic for me but made me look more rested. I had it as an alternative to filler, filler is better for what I wanted it for. It does brighten and the effect on me is instant but I’m aware I’m in the minority according to the practitioner who did it

NeverDropYourMooncup · 31/01/2024 19:05

I think that anything involving injecting (beyond a self injector for medical reasons) should always be done by a person who is medically qualified - I mean, come on, do you really want somebody with a pointy thing around your eyes who hasn't got years of knowledge, training and experience?

Rattai · 31/01/2024 19:06

I've had it twice and also tried tear trough filler ( which i promptly had dissolved!)

I liked the effect of lumi eyes. It just cleared up the fine lines and makes me look less tired

@AlexandraJJ Thanks for sharing your experience, did you see any change after one treatment that encouraged you to keep going with it?

@NeverDropYourMooncup I'd prefer a medical person but so far I'm not finding any doing lumi eyes in my area.

@Rattai That is encouraging. I'd love it if it worked for me!

@Rattai interested in why you had the tear trough fillers removed and preferred Lumi? I was considering fillers but maybe this will be better.

AlexandraJJ · 31/01/2024 20:04

I only tried it as my practitioner didn’t do filler. I’ve moved areas and still finding my feet. I would have preferred filler but gave the lumi eyes a good go. 6 months on I’ve had filler which I’m very happy with. Would I try lumi eyes again? No

There are many alternatives to lumi eye that are the same. It's an injectable moisturiser, Lumi eye is just the name for one type. So I'm sure if you found a doctor that does aesthetics they will do an alternative.

tommysnewgirl · 31/01/2024 20:15

@AlexandraJJ How long ago did you do the filler?

I see, well that is good to know. I will try and find which are the good places to go in my area and then see what they offer. I just want to do my research before I go for a consultation!

I had filmed beautiful eye done with a doctor. The results are subtle but I much preferred it to filler. I ended up having my tear trough filler dissolved, it didn't settle well. I think the under eye skin has to in good condition otherwise it's very thin and filler doesn't sit well on 'some' people. It's better to get the under eye area hydrated before having filler.

@AlexandraJJ How long ago did you do the filler?

November. I had it for the first time 2 1/2 years ago and it was amazing. Really pleased with the results much better than Lumi for what I wanted it for. Had lumi 3 times over 4 months last year.

Nomorelittlebabybum · 31/01/2024 20:33

I would recommend 👍😎

The filler just looked strange on me and looked a bit baggy first thing in the morning. I had never had eye bags before. Maybe it was slightly overdone.

I'm happier now though

tommysnewgirl · 31/01/2024 21:25

@newnameagain1976 Thank you that also sounds interesting, I will look into that and see if there are any local clinics that offer it. I do think I would try skin boosters and even PRP before doing filler.

@AlexandraJJ That is good you have had it a couple of years and are still happy with it! I do worry about it for myself as I don't really have a lack of volume in that area and I am worried about issues with filler that can appear over time. I know it doesn't affect everyone but I did see Davinia Taylor on instagram got her under eye filler dissolved last year a she felt it had made her eyes baggy and the hyaluronidase she had used to dissolve them has caused a large groove to appear in her cheek and she is now trying to fix that. I also know people like yourself get really good results but if feels like a massive risk, especially if I don't really have volume loss.

@Nomorelittlebabybum Thanks for sharing your photos. Looks like a good result!

Id personally avoid lumi eye as its more of a quick fix. it has a low concentration of polynucleotide compared to Vitaran or Plinest. You want a high concentration of PN (polynucleotide) this is repairing and regenerates. Lumi eye is more of a moisturiser whereas PN is bio stimulating and has many more benefits. I hope this helps and you found something that works for you :) Do factor in 2 - 3 sessions for optimum results ! x
