Has anyone successfully brough their nails back from the dead??

I've never had great nails; weak, prone to flaking and peeling. My natural solution to this at 18 was to start getting acrylic nails.... 10+ years on I'm still getting them done, with a few breaks of a couple of weeks at best when I've tried to stop and nurse my natural nails back to health, then given up and gone back to my lovely acrylics.

Now I'm sick of fitting in the appointments and spending the money, when half the time I'm getting a short, natural coloured set done anyways, so I've had them removed and am determined to stick with it and have my own healthy nails.

But I feel like you name it I've tried it when it comes to strengthening polishes, cuticle oils, hand creams, skin hair and nail supplements - but perhaps I've never given anything enough of a chance to work.

Have you had similarly bad nails, and used something that really made them feel and look fab? I don't necessarily want them to get long, just to have a bit of backbone and stop peeling all over the shop.

Help me push through with hope that there's a chance I can bring them back to life! I'm otherwise always nicely groomed and my nails are letting me down!

You need to leave it long enough for the entire nail to grow out as everything currently on your finger is damaged.
i never did acrylics but I used to paint my nails all the time and just kind of stopped a few years ago - now my nails literally never break, they are healthy and strong. However if you want to start painting them again or wearing acrylics they probably won't stay good even if you get them there.

Also look at your diet and vitamin minerals etc.

if this isn’t just damage from what your doing to them then there may be a reason why they aren’t growing in in good condition?

Its not the gels or the BIAB thats the problem, its the removal

This is not strictly true, though the removal, if not done correctly, can also cause damage. Acetone doesn’t damage nails, it just temporarily dries them out.

Even just wearing gels can cause surface damage to nails, not to mention the potential risks from allergies, particularly if not cured properly.

Any oil will help nails but jojoba is best. Regularly applying it during the day helps. I also regularly do warm oil soaks as recommended by The Salon Life on YouTube. My nails have become a lot stronger, but with flexibility and they don’t peel anymore.

Don’t use a buffer..buffers literally remove the harder surface layers of the nail causing them to weaken by exposing the softer underneath layers.

Oh, and yes, they will take until they grow out completely to be healthy again. In the meantime keep them short (to avoid knocking them).

Royal jelly every day. It's made a huge difference to my weak and flaky nails.
