Sewing a bust seam on a leather jacket

I bought myself a leather jacket and it's a smidge too tight but I hoped that by wearing it I'd stretch it enough to be perfect. However, I've managed to pull a tiny hole of threads in the seam of the side! Any wisdom on if/how I can fix this myself?

A picture might make it easier to advise, but you'll need to buy a leather needle as standard ones will snap.

@Alwaysalwayscold it's the seam that runs down the length of the jacket. It's my own fault for putting a jumper underneath yesterday to try to speed up the stretching! Argh! I reckon it's only a couple of stitches but enough that I noticed in a side mirror today. Thanks for your help and wisdom. I'm feeling very stupid!🙂

Warm the jacket up before you try and stretch it. You'll need to go in through the lining to fix it so i would take it to a repair/seamstress place.

@Watercolourpapier yep. Lesson learnt, I think. It's also the side I carry my daughter on so I think it was rhw powerful combination of my stupidity and her sitting on my hip and pulling on it. Thanks for the advice

By warm it up i mean i would hang it on the radiator for a good 20 minutes, then by hand, stretch the leather gently in all different directions everywhere it needs stretching. -if you just pull in one direction it will distort the leather.

You need to use polyester thread and then sew the hole up using the existing holes and a ladder stitch. If you want to make it perfect then use two threads and do a double ladder stitch with both sides at the same time, like threading shoe laces. You won't be able to tell it was damaged at all.
