Lip blushing: share your tips

I've booked to have this done in March, in my 50s and lips are looking thin and blurry. Would love to hear from others who've done it.

How did you choose the colour?

Did you stay within your natural lip line?

Any advice for the healing stage?

Thank you!

Hi everyone!

My girlfriend had lip blush done in December 2023 and has had a horrible experience with her. It has left her upset and distraught with how she looks.

She went for lip blush and the woman who carried it out gave her a really dark shade of purple without advising her properly whatsoever.

We are now 3 or 4 months down the line and she has tried every home remedy to get the remaining patches of purple from her lips, that never peeled off or budged. She has also been for a saline removal, which hasn’t made much of a difference. There is a prominent dark purple patch on her bottom lip that has been upsetting her massively for a while now, and she is really down about it as it doesn’t seem to be getting better with anything.

I was wondering if anyone with any experience would know why this patch has come about and why it won’t get better. And also if there’s any ways that would remove it to restore her lips to normal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as we feel like we’ve tried every avenue to try and sort this and nothing has helped so far. The woman who carried out the lip blush has since blocked us on any form of contact, which makes it seem like she really didn’t know what she was doing.

I’ve attached pictures below for reference if anyone could analyse and maybe give an opinion on what to do.

Thank you in advance!

She could try further saline. Alternatively just try and let it fade.

another option would be a correction - a pale peach toned colour could work but wouldn’t be guaranteed and would need her to go through another lip blush.

did the practitioner not check the colour first?

@Adliv that's horrendous. Her lips look so sore and swollen. The uneven pigment and dark patches look like the butcher who did her lips has gone very deep into the dermis in some areas and I would imagine the only way to permanently remove the pigment would be through a laser like they do to remove tattoos.

I would not get another lip blush over the top as that might push the pigment even deeper into the dermis.

@pooroldgirl apparently she didn’t! She’s been telling her it was hyperpigmentation, but she’s now been for laser today and it’s seemed to help a bit!

Thank you so much for your advice!

Thank you so much for your feedback on this!

We’re just back from getting her first laser removal - and it seems to be a success as of yet, so here’s hoping!

Thank you again. @DrJoanAllenby

I'm glad the laser is helping.
