Anyone feel like their lips have thinned in their 30s

I know it's inevitable with age, but I'm only 33, didn't expect it already :( I've never smoked either.

Yup, I’ve found this. Also a non smoker. My lips were average to start with, but they’ve definitely thinned. Pregnancy gave me full lips, but they went back to normal after the birth and it’s not exactly practical to stay permanently pregnant. I have tried lip plumpers, but none has done much.

C1N1C · 28/01/2024 09:02

Lol, first world problems :)

I'm not diminishing, I get it, but also amusing!

Ewoklady · 28/01/2024 09:04

I’ve had lip blushing done to make them appear more defined and they done look as thin (but they are not botoxed)

saturnspinkhoop · 28/01/2024 09:06

It is a first world problem, but (quite possibly like others) posting on this board it is a nice distraction from some enormous problems on my life.

Sunshineonmywindowmakesmehappylikeishouldbe · 28/01/2024 09:22

I've given in and decided to go for filler. I thought this would happen a decade or so from now, not at 33 :(

What is lip blushing?
I had really full lips before pregnancy but now when I smile you can hardly see them.

blackpanth · 28/01/2024 09:29

Nope mine are the same

Im chasing the arse of 60 and I have no lips. Obviously now having fillers will be daft as it would be so obvious, I wish I had started them 20/30 years ago but back then we had the horror of what happened to poor Lesley Ash to put us off

Sofiabella · 28/01/2024 09:31

Mine have always been thin so I got filler when I turned 30 and then again 2 years later. My lips seem to hold filler really well luckily so will probably continue getting it every two years now. Makes such a difference and I love it!

SallyWD · 28/01/2024 09:38

I'm 49 and still have really full lips as do my parents (in their 70s and 80s). Not showing off, just saying it's not inevitable

Sunshineonmywindowmakesmehappylikeishouldbe · 28/01/2024 09:49

Lucky you :) don't worry I knew you weren't showing off, it's hard to say something positive on this forum without being piled on.

Right well that was fucking torture!! Even with numbing cream on.. way more painful than nose filler. Ouch!!

OP posts:
laclochette · 28/01/2024 17:29

Mine did so like you I got filler, just a tiny touch (max 0.5ml per session) and I love the results. Just takes me back to my 20s lips. Hope you love yours too!

Sunshineonmywindowmakesmehappylikeishouldbe · 28/01/2024 17:31

Glad you liked your results :) i am happy with them, just the pain was something else, not sure if I'd go through it repeatedly 😕

OP posts:
laclochette · 28/01/2024 17:32

☹️☹️☹️ I'm sorry! I usually have so much numbing cream on I don't feel that much but everyone has such different sensitivities. I absolutely hate having my tear troughs done, mind you. But it turns out my vanity trumps all fear 🤣

SweetBirdsong · 28/01/2024 17:34

Nope. Mid to late 50s here, and I still have the same luscious lips I have always had! 👄

I think your 30s is a bit young for lips to be shrinking! Do you have thin lips anyway @Sunshineonmywindowmakesmehappylikeishouldbe ???

RedRobyn2021 · 28/01/2024 17:35

I'm 32 and have no idea what you're talking about

Since when was this a thing...

Sunshineonmywindowmakesmehappylikeishouldbe · 28/01/2024 17:35

Yeah you're right beauty is pain I guess 😂 that's a good point, maybe I didn't use enough numbing cream.. I'll see how I feel about it in the future.
I've had tear troughs and it was just very odd..felt like I had slugs crawling under my eyes 😂

OP posts:
Sunshineonmywindowmakesmehappylikeishouldbe · 28/01/2024 17:35

The practitioner said mine were thin but a good shape, maybe it was in my mind but too late, I've had the filler !

OP posts:
madeinmanc · 28/01/2024 17:37

Did the tear trough filler work, OP? I really need that (but can't really afford it) 😭

laclochette · 28/01/2024 17:43

@madeinmanc Not the OP but FWIW tear trough filler made a huge difference to me, I absolutely love it. Not the experience, which feels very odd (not painful just odd) but fact that it just took away all the shadows under my eyes. It doesn't take away "dark shadows" as in darker coloured skin but it removed the literal shadows cast by light in slight hollows. It lasts well over a year so although it's expensive, I think it's relatively good value.

33 is not old.

I'm not against cosmetic procedures but I can't believe that someone your age needs this done.

Most women who really need it doing are over 50.

One thing I don't understand- you make this sound like a DIY job.

You said you didn't use enough filler .

Your post this morning was wondering about having it done, but a few hours later it was done!

How did you manage that on a Sunday and so fast?

I just really hope you are using someone good. Most good practitioners have waiting lists of weeks or months.

EggyBreadBrekkie · 28/01/2024 17:53

You said you didn't use enough filler .*

*Numbing cream.

The practitioner should have done that.

‘Need’ is rather a subjective statement. No-one needs filler. But some women want to have it.

Yes you're stating the obvious.😂

But taken to its extreme, would you argue that a 12 year old 'needs ' to have their lips filled? (and yes, I know they wouldn't as you have to be over 18.)

But the principle is the same.

It's relative.

And if you start at 33 you're going to have to keep going for at least 50 years.
