Moisturiser for acne

My 13 yr old DD has benzoyl peroxide treatment for acne and is getting sore skin (it’s clearing the acne though). She needs moisturiser to help, oil free to stop it making her acne worse, but most moisturisers sting. Purifide 30spf works during the day but I’m after a cream for the night that doesn’t sting and doesn’t break the bank! I’m a bit rubbish at this stuff - not really sure which of the ingredients will be making her skin sting and so what to avoid. Any ideas?

Could she even alternate the days that she uses the benzoyl peroxide as it’s so harsh? If her skin is sore and stingy then it’s likely that it’s broken her skin barrier which can actually cause more acne.

DD loves Avène Cicalfate - she can get quite dry and sensitive skin from time to time, this stuff works miracles! It restores the skin barrier and since she’s started using it her skin has really cleared up. No acne and a really nice glow. Their whole range is non-comodegenic so no need to worry about blocking pores etc

Don't apply the BP every night if it's causing sore skin

Every 3 nights

Is she also being prescribed Lymecycline with the BP as a topical adjunct

It's unlikely the BP will work on its own

My DD used to use Superdrug's Simply Pure Hydrating Serum which I was already using at the time and it worked well for her.

I'm 45F and suffered mild to moderate acne from 13 and still ongoing, definitely hormonal for me. I have not used Roaccutane but probably have tried everything else. Other than certain contraceptive pills, the only other thing that works for me is milder Ph neutral skincare alongside Lymecycline taken on and off for a few months at a time. It's annoying as I would love to try posh anti aging creams but they make my skin bad. So to answer your question, I like natural jojoba oil (it's apparently very close in composition to your skins natural sebum) and I mix it with a a little Aveeno baby cream, or something mild and unperrfumed along those lines. I use some kind of mild acid peel and weekly which seems to rejuvenate my skin a bit and make it very smooth, but I can't always use this if my skin has open spots though as the acid stings a lot! For me the BP is useless and things like clearasil. These skincare companies seem to think people with acne have really oily skin which isn't always the case, all the strong spot treatments do is make my skin red, sore and flaky. So for me, I would say keep skincare mild and without lots of drying chemicals.

When my daughter used BP she used (and still does) La Roche Posay Toleriane.
It's a myth that moisturizer with oil makes breakout skin worse. Lack of hydration/moisture makes skin produce more.

URIAGE Hyseac line

Cerave is good in that case. Here is my routine that I follow:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Evening:
Cerave moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

My DS has this exact issue. This moisturiser from La Roche Posay has proved a game-changer (the LRP Toleriane moisturiser recommended above made him break out, and the Bioderma stung his skin). This one is specifically designed for people using harsh anti-acne skin treatment:

La Roche Posay Effaclar H Iso-Biome Hydrating Care
