M&S wide leg trousers washed and shrunk

Bought a pair of these a few weeks ago and washed them as per the washing instructions - they have now shrunk in length. I have a red pair that I am yet to wash and they are a good 3/4 cms shorter than them.
Has this happened to you? Is it to be expected? I have the long length so cannot buy them any longer. They are flapping around my ankles.

I have those too - mine also shrunk but as I bought them in a long, and im really a regular, they look ok now

Tumble dryer?

40° as per the label, air dry no tumble dry.

Found the receipt, I’ll exchange them and wash at 30° next time.

I stopped buying pyjamas from there as they always shrink on a 30 wash and I was bought a jumper for Christmas that shrank too on first wash. Luckily I got a refund
