The idiots guide to makeup

I don’t really wear makeup day to day.
If I’m going out and about then I do basic foundation (mousse type), blusher, eyeliner and eyeshadow (one neutral shade) and a bit of lip balm.
But I feel the eyeliner is a bit harsh and I class this as ‘going into the office’ level makeup, I’d like to know how I can elevate it and make it a bit more special for nights out (few and far between as they are 😂 )
I’ve googled for make up artist lessons but they’re all super expensive (hundreds) or all the photos on their site are of people who are orange 😳 which is not a look I want to favour.
Can anyone give any advice on things I can try/ YouTube tutorials to look for please?

Someone on here recently posted about this woman on Instagram called Erica Taylor, for older women, I'm in my 40s and think she's fab, but if you're younger you may want to check someone else out.

On YouTube Ali Andreea has some good bids suitable for all ages

Thankyou, I’m mid-30’s so not after anything too young/funky! I’ll have a look at those suggestions :)

Andrea Ali on YouTube, I love her videos and tutorials. She doesn't go for the typical plastered on OTT makeup that seems to be so popular among influencers these days.

The only thing is she uses high end makeup, and I want to buy it all but mine is not such a high end budget all the time 😁

Book an appointment for a make up lesson at MAC - they have different options - Every Day, Glam, Full Beat and Bridal - and the cost is redeemable against purchases. You can book online if you don't mind who you get or in person if you want to have a look at the artists first but any good artist should be able to do anyones style, not just their own.

I've booked a Selfridge's appointment which is not brand specific. I don't think I want to change my base (allergy issues) but want a natural age appropriate look (in my 50s).

I have very deep set eyes and previously found a good tutorial for that on YouTube by just searching - I think pixie?
