Are you loyal to a beauty salon?

Just been for an appointment at my usual & have come out feeling a bit meh.
I felt rushed service but at appointments before I kindly waited whilst beautician took personal calls to sort her life/family out.

Do you stay loyal or change salons?
Silly as feel guilty but treatments aren't cheap.

I have my regular place but would change if I wasn't happy. I'd put up with a bit of rubbish service if the treatment was really good.

I've changed nail places a few times until I found one to stick with because they had good availability, a couple of people I was happy with in case one was off and a decent online booking system.

I can't be arsed with having to call or message to be booked in. One place I had to sent a dm on fb messenger and then have a protracted chat about when she could see me and she always messed me about.

I am loyal to the beauty therapists I use who run their appointments on time, who don’t keep me waiting, who have an online booking facility, who send a text reminder about my appointment the day before, who have a clean workspace, and who give a great treatment.

I’ve been going to the same nail tech, waxer and hairdresser for years.

I’ve yet to find anyone that does lashes that can consistently manage to be on time for appointments. Running late usually means they’re flustered, they they give a shit rushed treatment and their room is a tip because poor time management means they can’t keep it clean and tidy between appointments.

It was for lashes.

I was loyal for 12 years to the same salon. Loved my lady, the prices and the experience of going.
Then she moved far away ☹ and the new girl stiffed me on a 1hr treatment where I was finished, dressed and ushered out within 40mins.
She also had a streaming cold which of course she couldn't help, but was awful when her face was a foot above mine and she was constantly sniffing and blowing her nose.
Same thing happened again so I just didn't book again.
Must admit I was surprised they didn't contact me - I would have gently explained as I bet the salon didn't know she was stiffing clients on time, but nope, so I go to a different salon now.

I used to be. Spent a good 10 years going to the same one regularly.

However, I moved slightly further away, although for a couple of years I still attended the same salon, their prices have increased and well surpass any of the prices of local salons I'm nearest to now for the same treatments. There are a lot of salons in the area to choose from. So I broke my loyalty.

Interested if anyone else flits between places?

I have flitted!

Went to the same salon for my hair (wash, cut and blow every 8 weeks) for three years. Was always pleased with the cut but never felt
particularly valued. After three years of regular appointments with the same stylist, I never feel
like she remembered me or personalised my experience. It was like I was a new client every time.

I then was really let down by them when I had an apt booked for a Wednesday evening. The following day was my birthday and had dinner plans that night, and the following day was going away for the weekend. On the Tuesday- day before my appointment- the salon rang and asked if I could change my app from wed to Thurs because another customer wanted to book in a balayage at the same time as my hair cut, and the balayage would take three hours. I was so offended. I felt like they were saying “even though you booked a couple of weeks ago, we want to prioritise this customer who will be spending a damn sight more than you on a full balayage colour.” I said no because I couldn’t make the Thursday due to my bday dinner plans, and didn’t want to push it back to the week after, I wanted freshly cut hair for my bday weekend. I told them I wanted to stick with my original appointment that I booked weeks ago, and could the balayage woman, could not get HERS done another time, instead of taking my appointment slot. They managed to do some shifting and make it work for both of us, but it left a sour taste in my mouth.

So this made me want to look elsewhere, and for my next cut I went to a new salon. Wasn’t crazy about it, the whole time I was getting my hair cut, another member of staff sat next to me trying to sell me a laser hair removal package. I like to
relax whilst getting my hair done, not sit and deal with a saleswoman. So next time I went somewhere else. It was nice but way more expensive. So basically ended up going back to my original salon. And weirdly, since then, I have found they have treated me a lot better.

I have a love hate with my salon which I am strangely loyal to! I find my hairdresser pretty rude and hard to communicate with but how she does my hair and the care she takes over it makes up for it so I am pretty loyal I do often toy with another salon though but she helped my hair so much when I suffered with PND.

I regularly got my waxing done at a walk in parlour. Always seemed to get a different person but it was fine except for the last time when my beautician was also working reception so she wasn't totally focused on me. When I got home and checked the waxing - it was facial - it was pretty rubbish so I haven't been back. This was about a year ago and I got some facial razors and have been using them ever since!
