VERY VERY pale shade of foundation/cc cream

Looking for a light shade of foundation/cc cream for everyday wear. I've always struggled with getting the right shade, none of the brands in Superdrug/boots go light enough for me and even went into Sephora on a recent trip to Florida after my fake tan had worn off, to see if they could help me and the lady in the shop tried a few of their lightest ones and told me they just didn't have anything suitable.

People frequently ask me if I'm ill, I'm that pale!

I currently use a light shade of fake tan to bring myself to a more normal shade when I want to wear makeup but I'm getting fed up of doing this and just want something that matches me!

Preferably a brand which I buy a few smaller samples of shades to try. I did buy the lightest one from IT cosmetics (the smaller size) but that size only comes in 4 shades, even the lightest one was too dark. I'm a bit apprehensive on taking a gamble on their larger sizes which do come in more shades, as they're a lot more expensive.

Loreal true match foundation goes very pale with porcelain? I'm a redhead and wear poreclain rose. It's got a lively texture . And not expensive so you can easily try it .

I’m dark skinned but my best friend is very pale. She uses Dior and I must say it makes her skin look amazing. I recall her saying Chanel pale shades come out too yellow.

You should go to a Dior counter and have a makeup test. It’s important to test foundation not simply on your wrist but on your face.

Coming at it from the other end of the budget, primark pressed powder in the palest shade is great. The same colour liquid is a little darker, I use a combo of both because I’m somewhere between the 2. It’s definitely cheap enough to give it a try.

Thanks for all your replies

I've been stung a few times online by trying to figure out the right shade, even the Light shade of IT cc cream is too dark.

I just can't afford to keep taking gambles on stuff I can't use so was hoping to find something I could get a few small samples of.

Try Il Makiage, they will refund if its wrong.

Avon do an extra pale bb cream. If it doesn't suit you, you can return it. It's really cheap as well, around £5-6.

I was going to suggest Avon too. I'm very pale and their lightest shade Porcelain is too pale even for me.
Their liquid foundations are now also coded N, G and P for neutral, golden or pink undertones so you can (hopefully) avoid orange tones. They do samples and accept returns if an item isn't right.
